Psychedelic Medicine Coalition

The FDA’s decision to not approve MDMA for PTSD and request an additional study on Friday was disappointing for so many in the psychedelic ecosystem. I encourage everyone involved to lean into this moment, and hold steadfast on our ultimate goals of safe, affordable access, we need to keep working with our government partners, we need to listen to their feedback, and we need to move that needle forward with mutually agreeable opportunities for the movement. The FDA pathway was always only one way forward, there will be many pathways that open up AND when the federal government is ready for it. Don’t believe conspiratorial ideas of corruption and greed, and don’t believe the notion that we can do this without the federal government for this absolutely is not the case. We will see progress, we already have; we just need to exercise patience, humble ourselves, continue to educate lawmakers and federal government, and understand we are working with a system that is not designed specifically for psychedelic medicines and that is ok. Psychedelic Medicine Coalition was founded in 2021 specifically for these moments. The fight to bring psychedelic medicine treatments to the mainstream is far from over, in fact it has just begun.
