The RECESS24 Clean Energy Summit empowers historically underrepresented communities to lead and thrive in the clean energy transition. #RECESS24 #CleanEnergy #SustainableFuture #ClimateAction #EquityInEnergy
Public Sector Consultants was proud to sponsor and attend RECESS24 because, like conference convenor Carla Walker-Miller, we believe the benefits of clean energy should reach people in every community, regardless of income, geography, or background. One thing that’s been undeniable in my 30 years of experience in this space is that historically underserved communities are disproportionately affected by climate impacts, yet they often face the greatest barriers to accessing the clean energy solutions that can mitigate these impacts. I’m proud to say PSC helped create an organization 15 years ago dedicated to removing these barriers and was the nation’s first nonprofit green bank, Michigan Saves. Now, they’ve provided more than $650 million in financing for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, half of which has gone to low-income and disadvantaged communities. It was an honor to be at the table with industry leaders and innovators these past couple of days, listening and learning about how to accelerate the change we want to see in the clean energy sector and beyond for the benefit of everyone – no exceptions. Thank you Carla for setting that table.
