Last week, I had the fantastic opportunity to attend my first Great Lakes District of ITE meeting, and it was an incredible experience! Huge shoutout to my amazing teammates, Myles Overall, EIT and Carmen Caserio. We not only brought home the Traffic Bowl District Championship but also won the Student Design Competition! On top of that, our Purdue ITE Chapter was honored with the 2024 Student Chapter Award. What a week! The first Student Leadership Summit (SLS), organized by the Young Member Committee led by Cole G. Villalobos, P.E., PTOE, RSP₂I, was definitely another highlight. The summit provided a welcoming and encouraging space for students and young professionals like me to connect and grow. To all the professionals I met and connected with, thank you for being so welcoming and creating such a supportive community. I’m excited to be a part of this network and look forward to growing together. Next stop: Philly! I can’t wait to represent GLITE at the ITE—A Community of Transportation Professionals Annual Meeting and compete in the Collegiate Traffic Bowl Grand Championship. Stay happy, and #BoilerUp !
