This week we're again getting progressively harder AND ripping off another cocktail from @kevin_kos cause its just too damned good. Coffee + clarifications + foam! This is an absolutely stunning cocktail. Come to the office and we'll whip up (literally) a batch. Here goes! Cream-Washed Vodka (adjust up to batch in larger qty's) 4oz Vodka 0.3oz Simple 6 drops Coffee Bitters 2 barspoons lemon juice 1.5oz Cream Mix everything in a glass minus the cream. In a separate mixing glass add the cream THEN add the cocktail..NEVER the other way around. Store in the fridge overnight and strain through a coffee filter or cheesecloth. This will take a while. Kahlua Foam 1 sheet of gelatin or 1 tsp of gelatin powder 2oz water 5oz Kahlua 4oz Coffee Mix gelatin powder and hot water until combined. If using a gelatin sheet, place in cold water first to soften then add it to the hot water. Put the gelatin mixture in the fridge until it turns into a gel. Add remaining ingredients to a blender then the gelatin and blend until well incorporated. Add the mixture to a siphon, charge, shake well and place in the fridge to cool. Inverted White Russian 2oz Cream-washed vodka Top with Kahlua Foam In a rocks glass with a single large ice cube, add vodka mixture. Stir until chilled and top with Kahlua Foam. Its beautiful enough without a garnish but a few coffee beans or cocoa is a great addition. #lightingdesign #qlightingdefined #qlsnc #qlighting #iesna #illuminatingengineeringsociety #architecturallighting #aianorthcarolina #designsketching #industrialdesign #productdesign #blueprints #cocktails #cocktailporn #lightingdesign #lightingporn #qlighting #qlightingdefined #qlsnc #craftcocktails #kevin_kos #invertedwhiterussian #whiterussian

Although we're playing off like we're making a Coffee Pina Colada we're really just giving you a recipe we stole off the internets. Shoutout to @atitchmorecoffee for suggesting it and @kevin_kos for the always phenomenal cocktails. This is a deeply complex Pina Colada with a few secret ingredients. Mainly ground coffee and negroni infused coconut flakes. Here goes... Pina Colada Mix 10oz Pineapple Juice, fresh if possible 8oz Coconut Cream, full fat or nothing! 1cup sugar, scant 4 tsp Negroni infused Coconut flakes ( 1 negroni to 1c coconut flakes, drink that negroni after infusion!) Pinch of salt All of this goes into a blender, blend until smooth and chill. Rum Blend (some of these aren't sold in NC so sub as needed) 5oz Dimplomatico Rum 5oz Appleton Estate 8yr 2oz Overproof Rum 2oz Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum 2oz Clement Rhum Agricole Onto the actual recipe... 6oz Rum Blend 12oz Pina Colada Mix 2.25c crushed ice 6 coffee beans, told you it was a stretch Add all these ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth, pour into a hurricane glass and garnish with a cocktail umbrella and pineapple wedge. #lightingdesign #qlightingdefined #qlsnc #qlighting #iesna #illuminatingengineeringsociety #architecturallighting #aianorthcarolina #designsketching #industrialdesign #productdesign #blueprints #cocktails #cocktailporn #lightingdesign #lightingporn #qlighting #qlightingdefined #qlsnc #craftcocktails #kevin_kos #atitchmorecoffee #pinacolada #pinacoladas #ilikepinacoladas #caughtintherain

Today we are actively trying to make the entire country of Italy mad at us. We're filling a Bialetti Moka Pot (espresso maker) with Vermouth instead of water to make Espresso-infused Vermouth. It's wild, it's ridiculous, it's effen delicious! Take your moka pot and fill the water chamber with Sweet Red Vermouth to the fill line. Add the coffee chamber and fill with finely ground coffee. Assemble the moka pot and set onto a burner over medium-low heat. You want a slow simmer to steep through the coffee. If you run the moka pot too fast it will taste bitter, weak and acidic. The best way is to actively watch the liquid come through the upper spigot. It should be a slow flow rather than a sputtering boil. If you're too hot, remove the moka pot from the stove. Let cool and use immediately as the coffee vermouth with oxidize. We're suggesting 2 cocktails with this vermouth, a Negroni Svegliato and the inspiration for our artwork, a coffee Manhattan called "The city that never sleeps"....get it...coffee, cocktails...we're so witty. Negroni Svegliato 1oz Gin 1oz Campari 1oz Espresso infused Vermouth -add all the ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass with a big ole cube and garnish with an orange peel. The City that never sleeps 2oz Rye 0.75oz Espresso infused Vermouth Barspoon of maraschino cherry juice 2 dashes of Ango -add all the ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with an orange peel. #designsketching #industrialdesign #productdesign #blueprints #cocktails #cocktailporn #lightingdesign #lightingporn #qlighting #qlightingdefined #qlsnc #craftcocktails #lightingdesign #qlightingdefined #qlsnc #qlighting #iesna #illuminatingengineeringsociety #architecturallighting #aianorthcarolina #negronisvegliato #mokapotvermouth #mokapot #bialettimokapot #mokapotcocktails #coffeenegroni #negroni
