Phil brings with him a wealth of experience from the HVAC industry. He has extensive knowledge in the cooling tower and water source heat pump markets and specializes in design-build projects. He graduated from SUNY Canton with an AAS in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Engineering Technology/Technician. With over 18 years of knowledge, including a significant 13-year tenure as a Sales Engineer at Pro Air Plus and the past 4 years at Modular Comfort in a similar role, Phil is well-equipped to lead our Rochester branch with knowledge and professionalism. Tom Piekunka, an engineered salesman in our Rochester office, retired from R.F. Peck on May 28th. A licensed professional engineer, Tom has been with R.F. Peck for 8 years but has been in the HVAC business for an impressive 44 years. Many of them while running his own company, Piekunka Systems with his wife Joy. He is a founding member of NY-Geo, past president of ASHRAE, and an accredited installer through the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA). Tom will continue pursuing other adventures, including being a tug boat captain on the Genesee River & Sodus Bay and continuing to work as an EMT. He has been a knowledgeable asset & ally in the industry over the years and will be missed by many.

Last Thursday, Sales Engineer Charlie Grochowiak, EIT from our Buffalo office brought Denlar Fire Protection Territory Manager Cathy Savage to Trautman Associates for a lunch & learn worth 1 continuing education credit hour on the topic of Fire Suppression and the UL300A standard. Last month, Regional Sales Manager Greg Schmelig had the privilege of partnering with our esteemed sales representative, R. F. Peck Company, Inc., and their dedicated teams across Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. Throughout the trip, several enlightening "lunch & learns" (and occasionally "breakfast and learns") were conducted in each city, boasting robust attendance both in-person and virtually. Each session featured Vibro-Acoustics by Swegon North America's acclaimed Extreme Event Engineering Presentation, officially accredited by The Practicing Institute of Engineering, Inc. (PIE) of New York State, offering valuable Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The primary focus revolved around seismic, wind, and vibration isolation methodologies, despite the minimal seismic activity prevalent across most of New York State.
