Calpine is one of the largest West Coast packing distributors serving the agriculture industry, with 12 locations throughout key agricultural regions. Robert’s successful background in leadership positions in the agriculture industry, coupled with his extensive sales and marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing experience, make him uniquely qualified for the role. “I am thrilled to come aboard the Calpine team and get to work with the amazing leadership group, connect with our customers, and bring additional support to our sales team,” shared Robert. “I am confident Calpine will continue to thrive as we enter this next chapter of growth together. James will be responsible for identifying, originating, and qualifying new investment opportunities.   James joins Rainier from Transom Capital, where he served as Vice President of Business Development. We’re proud to share our 2023 year in review, showcasing firm and portfolio company highlights. Early in the year, we hit a firm milestone with the closing of Rainier’s inaugural $300 million fund. Our investors include foundations, global asset managers, insurance companies, pension plans, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.   We also launched our formalized value creation strategy called SUMMIT and are proud to apply this collaborative approach throughout our portfolio — including our newest platform investments, SCI Flooring and Omega Fitness. We worked in tandem with our outstanding management teams to develop and expand our portfolio companies by adding United Carpet to SCI Flooring and hiring five new leaders across the portfolio.   We’re also proud of Rainier’s growth as we added four new members to our team — Benjamin Painter as Chief Financial Officer, Salmaan Amin as Associate, Shiven Mohindra as Analyst, and Bory K. as our Executive Assistant.
