This week’s #FridayRead highlights a study by Dr. Mark Awad and team (Dana-Farber Cancer Institute), published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. In this #FridayRead, we are diving into a paper by Ami Yamamoto and team, published in PNAS, which sheds light on how cancer spreads, by analyzing circulating tumor cells (CTCs).    The study revealed tumor-secreted factor, angiopoietin-like 7, played a key role in promoting metastatic dissemination from the necrotic tumor core. These findings could contribute to the development of new treatments for metastatic cancers.
