Amazing news, everyone! Our Read It & Eat Box has made it through as a nomination for best Book Box of the year! You have between now and August 4th to vote for Read It & Eat!

Eat Bookshop! We're relocating to the Valvaere Collective for Fall 2024. Our space is almost doubling in size and we are very excited to be right beside The Rail Apartments. https://lnkd.in/gAqyhSsb But we need YOUR help! Relocating is going to cost us some money and we won't have a lot of cash once the shop closes at the end of July! So we have launched a Kickstarter campaign! We're raising $3500 to cover: renting a box truck to move inventory, cost of materials to pack, our first month's rent, and some funds for new furniture and new inventory.

Read It & Eat Bookshop will be exiting the West Side Bazaar at the end of July. This is not the end but a detour. I believe in this little culinary bookstore and it's time to stop being forgotten up on the second floor! 💔 There are a myriad of reasons we are exiting, some of which have been covered by Andrew Galarneau, which we encourage you to follow over at Four Bites . 👀👀 But we aren't stopping! We have a few more events still scheduled throughout the summer and those are still happening! We are very excited for our first cookbook author signing (more details will be live next week) and we hope you sign up! 👩🍳👋🏽🎉 You can still purchase in person through the end of July and our affiliate partnerships are still ongoing 📚 Sign up for a cookbook subscription box! I started my business now four years ago as a Book & Food Subscription box, two years ago I launched a book fair with a thousand annual guests, and last year I opened a bookstore. I'm nothing if not a slow grind. You'll still see us at pop up markets this summer too I still believe Buffalo is ready for a culinary bookstore and for culinary adventure! Independent Bookstore Day has come and gone, closing out a phenomenal April. Buffalo continues to show its love for local and small businesses.

Thank you everyone who joined us at Seneca One for Year 2 of the Read It & Eat Book Fair and Market. This is a long one, so buckle up .... .... I'm a small business owner, I've had my bookstore for six months, and I still work full time. Running this book fair is NOT easy and I start thinking about this event back around Thanksgiving in the midst of holiday shopping. How can I give you the best book fair possible? How can I make my vendors happy? What's going to make you come back each year ready to buy those books? 📚 It costs around 15k each year to run this event, a bill I'm footing throughout the process. Vendor registrations, ticket sales, and sponsorships help cover that. A good book fair for me is an event that pays for itself. Is cost fun to talk about? No, but I want to be honest on WHY this is not easy. 💀 But, I LOVE seeing the Buffalo community support small businesses, our independent bookstores and fight hunger. The smiles, the laughter, the bags full of books, oh it's so wonderful. 🥰 If you have the time, please leave a Google review for my bookshop and mention this book fair. Thanks! 🎉🎉 A few highlights this year 🎉🎉 ✔️ We raised $750 for FeedMore WNY and donated over 4 barrels of food! They're weighing the food Monday but rumor is it's at least 350lbs of food ✔️ We saw over 1k guests again this year! ✔️ We welcomed over 40 vendors, an increase of +10 vendors this year ✔️ Three different stations came out for live coverage!
