Yesterday, RecognizeGood welcomed our newest Legend Award recipient Cheryl White with The Dog Alliance! 🎉 Cheryl White first began volunteering with The Dog Alliance in 2011 when she joined the Bow Wow Therapy Dogs program. The program brings therapy dogs to visit hospitals and public libraries to help anyone going through a health challenge, bring relief to healthcare workers, or working with children experiencing reading challenges. Cheryl signed up to be one of the volunteers in charge of bringing therapy dogs to these places, but she didn’t stop there... Special thanks to everyone at Dog Alliance for hosting us in your space and for letting us hang out with some of your furry friends too! Our entire team had such a wonderful time learning more about Cheryl and her work with Dog Alliance through the years. Yesterday, RecognizeGood celebrated our newest Legend Award recipient Vicki Matustik at Oak Hill United Methodist Church! 🎉 For the past several years, Oak Hill United Methodist Church has opened its doors to the unsheltered each week and other times throughout the year. Under the direction of Vicki Matustik, OHUMC Director of Connections and Service, the unsheltered receive a meal, showers, clothing and a respite from weather conditions. Special thanks to everyone at Oak Hill UMC for hosting us in your beautiful church and helping us say thank you to Vicki! It was such a wonderful gathering that was a true testament to Vicki's impact on so many throughout her work with the church. Yesterday, RecognizeGood welcomed our newest Lighthouse Award recipient For Goodness Cakes, an organization who bakes homemade cakes and treats for children in the foster care system for birthdays, graduations and special events. We had such a great time speaking with Alicia and Ashley who co-lead the Austin chapter. We were also able to present them with a pay-it-forward donation going towards For Goodness Cakes so that they can continue to bake awesome cakes for the kids in our area who may have never received a homemade cake before! Special thanks to Lady Quack's Cakery for hosting us, it was a very fitting location for this group! 🧁🍰

Today, RecognizeGood celebrated our newest Legend Ricardo Zavala with Dove Springs Proud! For the past 11 years, Ricardo has proudly served the 78744 area as the president of Dove Springs Proud, a nonprofit organization comprised of people who live, work, or have lived in the area. DSP’s mission is to support residents in the area, specifically youth – Ricardo and his team have served over 7,000 members of their community by raising money for families to provide them with medical, funeral, and academic financial assistance! Special thank you to the staff at Central Texas Food Bank for hosting us and to Monica Maldonado with MAS Cultura for joining us, who Ricardo has chosen as the recipient of his $1,000 pay-it-forward donation. If you haven’t heard of the amazing work they’re doing at MAS Cultura go check them out! It was a pleasure to see all the love and support everyone has for each other and to hear more about the work that they are putting into our communities.
