The way these counselors are showing everyone support is too cute not to share. From the crocheted octopus holding an inspirational message, hand-written messages of care and even "on-brand" specialty ordered sour gummy candies!! I mean, come on! How amazing?!

Pacific Unity is a course that leverages psycho-education components to offer members the skills and tools desired to overcome #culturalchallenges. Through guided discussions, members will explore how cultural influences shape their identities, behaviors, and relationships. Building a supporting community where members can develop greater awareness, empathy, and strategies for coping with cultural stressors, enhances everyone’s mental well-being and sense of belonging. Key topics will include #culturalanxiety #stressmanagement #adjustment concerns and #discrimination. Pacific Unity acknowledges and respects the unique cultural experiences and perspectives of each member, creating a safe space where individuals can share their stories and challenge to foster personal growth and healing. Starts this Saturday, July 13th 9:30AM Contact YICHING Trenkamp, PLPC for questions and interest! [email protected] 318-588-6742

Faith Shipley is joining Reef Wellness and is available to help women battling anxiety, addiction, personality disorders, depression and more! She is available for in-person evening appointments, understanding many of us can unbox our challenges after handling our work and/or day responsibilities. “Sometimes we need a team to help encourage us. We hear it all the time that it’s okay to not be okay and I want to help my clients feel and understand that; Not just read it.” 318-725-8393 [email protected]

Shout out to YICHING Trenkamp! Becoming a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) marks a significant milestone for graduate students in the field of counseling! This achievement signifies the culmination of rigorous academic training to strengthen the professional journey dedicated to mental health and well-being. PLPC’s are entrusted with the responsibility of applying their knowledge and skills under supervision in real-world client settings, bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and practical application. Congratulations YiChing!

Happy Friday! Here’s a helpful reminder as we head into the weekend! #FeelGoodFriday #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

During the month of May, you might see individuals, organizations, and communities share resources and shed light on #mentalhealth concerns to #reducestigma, and promote understanding and support for mental well-being. American Counseling Association's article on "How to Work Effectively with Your Counselor" is a great tool for anyone considering counseling services. If going to a therapist has been viewed as weak and/or "crazy," those who are learning the truth about this service may not have a clue what to expect, what to do, how to use their voice - to tell their story - in their session, or why the details matter. The truth of it all: "The counselor’s role is not to solve your problems or give you or your family advice. Professional counselors are trained and credentialed to help you figure out solutions to the challenges you face in life, improve your well-being and achieve your goals." These tips will strongly encourage someone's insight to build a strong working relationship with a counselor and get the most out of their counseling experience. #MentalHealthMatters #CounselorsHelp

We had SO much fun at PACE's Pride in the Park event! What a way to start #MentalHealthMonth! https://lnkd.in/gz6iD--C

It is important for Reef Wellness to support and advocate events like Pride in the Park. Trusted mental health resources are scarce, and even more-so for those who serve marginalized communities. Our support is offered to: 🧠 Reduce the #mentalhealthstigma and #discrimination by promoting visibility and acceptance 🧠 Advocate and create #safespaces needed for the people who identify outside of the binary AND for the families of those individuals 🧠 Educate and provide mental health resources 🧠 Validate – especially when members don’t receive validation from their trusted family members and friends which can increase many mental health risks 🧠 Build community and connection Support isn’t just for the #LBGTQIA+ community – its for friends and family too. Pride in the Park is hosted by Pace. Follow them and hang out with us tomorrow!
