Happy Friday!! 😀 Here is cute story I just had to share!! There was once a handyman who had a dog 🐶 named Mace. Mace was a great dog except he had one weird habit: he liked to eat grass 🌿 -- not just a little bit, but in quantities that would make a lawnmower blush. And nothing, it seemed, could cure him of it! One day, the handyman lost his wrench 🔧 in the tall grass while he was working outside. He looked and looked, but it was nowhere to be found. As it was getting dark 🌚 , he gave up for the night and decided to look the next morning. When he awoke, he went outside and saw that his dog 🐶 had eaten all the grass in the area, around where he had been working, and his wrench 🔧 now lay in plain sight, glinting in the sun 🌞 . Going out to get his wrench 🔧 , he called the dog 🐶 over to him and said, "A grazing Mace 🐶 , how sweet the hound 🐕 , that saved a wrench 🔧 for me." #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama

Happy Wednesday!! 😀 It's NATIONAL TACO🌮 DAY!! Get one, two or three on National Taco Day. On October 4th, the day recognizes the savory tortilla stuffed with fillings. It doesn't have to be Tuesday, so get out and enjoy your favorite. #NationalTacoDay The history of tacos predates the arrival of Europeans in Mexico. Anthropological evidence shows the native people living in the lake region of the Valley of Mexico traditionally ate tacos filled with small fish. At the time of the Spanish conquistadors, Bernal Diaz del Castillo, documented the first taco feast enjoyed by Europeans. Hernan Cortes arranged this meal for his captains in Coyoacan. It is unclear why the Spanish used the word taco to describe this native food. One suggested origin is the word ataco, meaning stuff or to stuff. In 1964, Roberto L. Gomez established The National Taco 🌮Council. The council sent a 55-pound taco to President Johnson in 1967. Whether you prefer soft or hard-shelled tortillas, most agree tacos satisfy a snack craving. However, they also make delicious meals. Consider that many are filled with seasoned, lean meats 🥩and vegetables🍅🥑🌶, tacos go beyond delicious. Fish 🐟tacos and shrimp🦐 tacos with grilled seafood add a whole other flavor profile. Ask for grilled chicken and hold the cheese. HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL TACO DAY: While it may not be Tuesday (or maybe it is!) it's time to have some tacos🌮🌮🌮. Go out for tacos or make them at home. There are many traditional varieties of tacos. Try a style of taco you've never had before. You may be surprised by how many options there. While you're celebrating be sure to share recipes and give a shout out to your favorite Mexican restaurants, food trucks, and taco stands. #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama

Happy Sunday!! 😀 It's CHANGE A LIGHT 💡 DAY!! Change A Light Day is on the first Sunday of October,. The day raises awareness on light-saving and energy-saving techniques related to light bulbs. Thomas Edison, one of the most renowned names in the scientific arena, invented the light bulb back in the 1800s. It was a revolutionary moment for the world 🌎 as people did not have to rely on candles 🕯 , lanterns, and fires 🔥 anymore to create light during the night hours. However, while the invention of the light bulb was a cause of celebration, it did not come without its share of disadvantages. Light bulbs, apart from emitting UV emissions and radiation, also consume a lot of energy, which inevitably increases their carbon footprint. A great alternative is LEDs that not only consume less energy but also run for a much longer time as compared to normal light bulbs. WHY LEDs ARE GREAT! LEDs are used in several objects. They are used in calculators, computers 💻 , lamps, car brake lights 🚗 , billboards, and ceiling lights. An LED works by allowing the electric current to pass through its semiconducting material (the diode). This leads to the diode emitting photons, which is light, through the electroluminescence principle. HOW TO OBSERVE CHANGE A LIGHT DAY: 💡 Change a light If your house has any other lighting system apart from LEDs, work with your electrician to change them all to LEDs. You will be able to save tons of money on your electricity bill as well as on buying bulbs in the long run because LEDs are just THAT amazing. 💡 Advocate for LEDs! Spread the good word about LEDs amongst your family and friends because why should you have all the fun? The more people use LEDs, the more benefit our environment gets. You will become part of the generation that did something to protect the only home, also known as planet Earth 🌍 , we know and love. 💡 Switch off unnecessary lights. If a light is not being used, then be sure to switch it off to save energy and money. Installing motion sensors on the staircase or even the porch will help those who need light only when the moment calls for it. #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama

Happy Friday!! 😀 HIDE THAT GARBAGE🗑!! Another great idea from This Old House for sprucing up your home for fall is taking the time to build 🧰a trash shed! Nothing mucks up the holiday 🎄season curb appeal of your house more than a bunch of beat-up trash cans and overflowing recycling bins scattered in plain view for your neighborhood to see! Build a sturdy storage house that hides two 32-gallon trash cans and several stacked recycling bins. Flip-open lids give it easy access so that you can quickly toss something away in the right place. Bifold front doors will make it easy to move heavy cans in and out. And if you have large 32-gallon recycle bins....expand it a little to allow easy access to these as well! #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama

Happy Friday!! 😀 GOT LIGHT?? Authors: This Old House | C. Knighten If you’ve never been stuck with the task of taking out the trash after dinner clean-up, then lucky you. But, in the fall 🍁 and winter ❄ , the last haul often goes out after dark. Install a motion-sensor garage floodlight to keep you company. It’ll also welcome you and your guests home with its warm illumination. Speaking of garages… Now is also a good time to tidy up the place. For most, the garage sees a lot of action during the summer 🌞 with yard tools and pool accessories ⛱ moving in and out. It might be handy to actually get the car 🚗 in there now that winter weather is on the way. Create a garage storage plan and build a workbench to store your tools if you have the space. Consider replacing the stained concrete slab with an epoxy-coated garage floor that’ll resist oil stains, bead water, and wipe clean. By installing the motion-sensor lights and cleaning up the garage you will have a much safer experience when you take the garbage out after dinner or need to grab the hammer for a small project! Have a great weekend everyone!! #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama

Happy Wednesday! 😀 LIGHT THE WAY!! Author: This Old House | C. Knighten Less daylight calls for illumination. You can also enhance the nighttime curb appeal of your home, while adding a measure of safety and security, by installing low-voltage landscape lighting. These exterior-grade fixtures are typically placed along walkways and driveways, but they’re also ideal for illuminating steps, trees 🌳 , stone walls, fences, and other prominent garden features. There are many styles to choose from. Whether you are interested in having lighting installed or choose the less expensive route by choosing solar lighting. Either of these options will help to light the way to your door and keep both family and visitors safer! #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama

Solemn Monday! 😔 Today is PATRIOT DAY AND NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE! Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance falls on September 11th to honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent victims who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Each year Americans dedicate this day to remembering those who died and the first responders🚓🚑🚒 who risked their own lives to save others. #PatriotDay | WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER! For many, September 11, 2001, began like any other weekday. We made our way to work. Children attended school. We shopped, had coffee, waited in line at a drive-thru. Those of us who weren’t in New York City heard the first reports on the radio📻 or television📺. A friend or neighbor alerted us to a plane flying ✈into one of the Twin Towers. We felt disbelief. Surely there was malfunction or horrible mistake? Then, a second plane flew into the second tower. Our disbelief turned into uncertainty and horror! MEMORIAL: Every year since that fateful day, the United States comes together to remember the fallen. We remember the first responders and those who made difficult decisions. Since that day, memorials have risen from the ashes. Please take time...a moment of silence, to remember the innocent people who lost their lives on this day and to remember that when we stand together, we are united! #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama

Happy Friday!! 😀 NATIONAL DOG 🐶WALKER APPRECIATION DAY!! National Dog Walker Appreciation Day is celebrated every year on September 8th. Started by Wag!, this is a day dedicated to the recognition and appreciation of dog walkers and the heroes that they are. Regardless of the day or weather, they are always there to let our pups out and make our lives easier. They work hard to ensure our pets are kept safe, clean, and happy. So why not take a day to appreciate their dedication and kindness to our furry friends? After all, they also deserve some kindness for all that they do. HISTORY OF NATIONAL DOG WALKER APPRECIATION DAY: According to Swedish geneticist, Pontus Skoglund, canine domestication first occurred about 27,000 — 40,000 years ago. It is believed that feral wolves were initially drawn to human settlements to scavenge for leftover food. Over time, they began to travel with nomads and a type of natural selection for domestication came into being. As per studies, China, the Middle East, and Europe are among the regions where the domestication of modern-day dogs first occurred. Since then, dogs have made a place for themselves in society and our hearts unlike any other. They are our furry friends, emotional support, protectors, and even family members. For all the love and joy they bring to our lives, they require care and attention in return. When nature calls, they need to be let out of the house to handle their business. They need to be taken out on frequent walks to get fresh air to exercise, and a little playtime in nature. While they have set schedules in the morning and evening for the same, it can be challenging for working fur parents to take them on walks. This is where dog walkers come to save the day. NATIONAL DOG WALKER APPRECIATION DAY ACTIVITIES: 🎁 Appreciate your dog walker If you are a pet owner and have a dog walker, appreciate them a little more today. Whether it is telling them how much you appreciate their help or getting them a small token of appreciation, 💸 Tip your dog walker Dog walking is a much more challenging job than it seems to be. In addition to walking the dog, dog walkers are responsible for picking up behind them, ensuring their safety, getting enough exercise, getting the dogs to do their business, and so much more. Tip them for their hard work. 🦮 Walk your dog If you can, take the time out today and take your dog out for a walk. This will give you some quality time with your pup, an insight into the dog walker’s job, and it will also give the dog walker a much-deserved day off. #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama

A strained back will keep your Wednesday from being very Happy😟!! Author | myhealth.alberta.ca To avoid compressing the spinal discs or straining your lower back when you are lifting here are some key tips to follow: 🔹 Keep a wide base of support. Your feet should be shoulder-width apart, with one foot slightly ahead of the other (karate stance). 🔹Squat down, bending at the hips and knees only. If needed, put one knee to the floor and your other knee in front of you, bent at a right angle (half kneeling). 🔹Keep good posture. Look straight ahead, and keep your back straight, your chest out, and your shoulders back. This helps keep your upper back straight while having a slight arch in your lower back. 🔹Slowly lift by straightening your hips and knees (not your back). Keep your back straight, and don't twist as you lift. 🔹Hold the load as close to your body as possible, at the level of your belly button. 🔹Use your feet to change direction, taking small steps. 🔹Lead with your hips as you change direction. Keep your shoulders in line with your hips as you move. 🔹Set down your load carefully, squatting with the knees and hips only. Keep in Mind: 🔸Do not attempt to lift by bending forward. Bend your hips and knees to squat down to your load, keep it close to your body, and straighten your legs to lift. 🔸Never lift a heavy object above shoulder level. 🔸Avoid turning or twisting your body while lifting or holding a heavy object. #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama

Happy LABOR DAY!! 👮♀️👷♂️🧑⚕️👨🌾👨🍳👩🏫🧑🏭🧑🚒👩🚀🧑✈️ Labor Day on the first Monday of every September recognizes the men and women who labor to build this country. Through a time-honored tradition with roots in the coordinated efforts of the labor movement of the 1800s, we salute the American workforce. #LaborDay Since the founding of the United States, the country has relied on its workforce for its infrastructure. From its streets 🚜and buildings🏛 to its transportation 🚘and security🚓, the nation runs on labor. The labor of what we create, build and harvest fuels our education and inspires our dreams. This National Day also signals the official end of summer☀️.....although the termperature still reaks of it!! Those who work hard, need time to play, too. With the school year starting and summer winding down, the long weekend beckons. They use the extra day earned to spend with families and catch some R&R. Some will explore cities 🏟while others will seek outdoor adventure🏌️. No matter where it’s spent, it’s well earned. HOW TO OBSERVE LABOR DAY: Many families spend Labor Day weekend on vacation. They pack the campgrounds 🏕full or explore tourist towns for one last hurrah! As you celebrate this day, consider and appreciate your hard work and how it has added to the well-being and prosperity of our country. Use #LaborDay to post on social media. HISTORY OF LABOR DAY: On September 5, 1882, Labor Day first honored workers in New York City. The observance later moved to the first Monday in September in 1884. However, the observance wasn’t officially recognized by any government entity until 1885 when a municipal ordinance was passed. Interestingly, Oregon recognized the day in 1887 before New York state’s bill passed. As more states recognized the observance, its popularity grew. Then, in 1894, Congress declared the day to be a national observance. #rentahusbandnow #handymanservices #doors #repairs #applianceinstallation #wallrepairs #replacementdoors #interiorpainting #ceilingfaninstallation #remodeling #outletinstallation #decaturalabama #madisonalabama
