“When I got the CPAP machine, it just completely changed my life. Day-to-day, I just feel sharper. It changed everything: concentration, how I perform at work, how I perform hanging out with friends and not falling asleep. For that, I’m super grateful.” Diagnosed at a young age, Julia’s story is a powerful reminder that sleep apnea knows no age and can impact anyone, even those in their 20s. Seeking treatment has changed her life for the better, allowing her to excel in all aspects of life. No matter your walk of life or your age, share your PAP therapy journey and inspire others with #PAPSavedMyLife. A recent study highlights the crucial role of sleep for elite athletes' recovery, performance readiness, and immune response. By establishing sleep-quality reference ranges using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the research found that 39.43% of 1,603 Team USA athletes reported poor sleep. Notable differences include men having better overall PSQI scores and later bedtimes compared to women, Winter Games athletes sleeping later than Summer Games participants, and individual-sport athletes having a lower risk of reduced sleep duration than team-sport athletes. These findings offer valuable insights for designing targeted #sleep interventions, helping to identify athletes at greatest risk for poor sleep. This paves the way for tailored sleep strategies, ensuring our athletes achieve peak performance. Let's prioritize sleep to support our athletes in reaching their best! 🥇 https://lnkd.in/eQixgfzR Source: Anderson T, Galan-Lopez N, Taylor L, Post EG, Finnoff JT, Adams WM.
