I was invited to talk with the students at www.empoweredbh.org about all things water quality and streams. So, of course, we went to the creek! We saw lots of different species of water bugs, signs of flooding in the past, some sediment, riffles, pools, and runs, a culvert or two, some dog poo (a bit too close to the stream), erosion, some trees that beavers had chewed on and one that they had tipped over completely, and even a few fish! In the afternoon, I talked with the older students about water quality indicators and what they mean for LIFE in the stream (dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity, turbidity, pH).
How do you safely excavate a hard-rock cavern 600 feet long, 90 feet tall and wide, and 4,850 feet below the surface? When our client needed answers, they turned to our Instrumentation specialists. Facing the pressures of safety, timelines, and the unforgiving nature of deep-earth engineering, our team stepped up to deliver beyond expectations. School is almost in session! Our Sarasota office organized a donation drive to collect school supplies for local families. We're all about caring about our communities and making sure kids start the year off right. P.S. No employee-owners were donated in this drive. Jake's just really enthusiastic about living our values.
