Vision: To make all the difference in the world. Mission: To make a difference for all.

About us

At Rework Work, we take you from diversity awareness to implementation using a simple process that is effective and duplicatable. We can help you... Effectively Influence and Lead: If you had a dollar every time you heard the phrase “Move the Needle” you probably would have retired a long time ago. Except you wouldn’t. You would keep working to make a difference because you really believe you can. That’s why you put up with the lack of resources, the lack of respect and the lack of progress in your organization. But it doesn’t have to be that way. If your head is sore from hitting a brick wall, Rework Work can provide you with the tools and resources you need to increase your effectiveness in your role. Impact Organizational Behavior Elements of diversity & inclusion need to be embedded into the framework of your organizational culture. If you look at your mission, vision and values and can’t immediately confirm that the majority of your employees know what your mission is let alone believe in it, it will be impossible to embed diversity into a culture that your employees don’t currently by into. There’s a conversation that needs to be had and it does not need to be difficult. Starting with awareness, Rework Work focuses on helping you create commitment to a process. Our framework, brought to you via interactive presentations, facilitate dialogue, weigh the business case against the moral reasoning and discusses strategies for implementation. Be An Employer of Choice Is Diversity & Inclusion integrated with your talent management strategy or is D&I merely a title on an office door? There are missing pieces of the puzzle. One of those pieces is trust. Do you trust your employees to become developed enough so they can one day leave, but instead choose to stay? That’s your mandate. Create an organization that is highly sought after, where everyone feels respected, can contribute to the team and where they love coming to work.

Stacey, the founder of Rework Work, had an engaging conversation on LinkedIn Live with Vernā Myers, a renowned DEI pioneer, consultant, and keynote speaker. 🙌🏽 They discussed the core principles of DEI, exploring how diversity, equity, and inclusion can fundamentally transform workplace culture and drive business success. A key question they tackled was whether companies truly believe in the value of diversity and inclusion. While we have clear incentives for work, the deeper question is whether DEI efforts will make your company significantly better. This conversation encourages us to reflect on our biases and stereotypes. If you think that increasing diversity will compromise excellence and performance, hesitation is natural. Many hold onto supremacy or elitism, but it’s essential to rethink how we value people, who we consider smart, and where creativity and innovation originate. If there's no strong link between your company's overall purpose and DEI, it's hard for people to commit. They might hire one or two people or donate money to an outside group, but they don't see it as integral to their success. However, to be successful, relevant, and competent in the future, this is your work. Yet, it’s challenging for some to embrace because they’ve never had to do it to succeed. 📣📣 Curious about how to align your company's purpose with DEI? Diversity and bias have both technical and social meanings when it comes to data work, where they influence who conducts the projects, what data is used, how the analyses are interpreted, how the results are applied, and who benefits from the projects. Join Barton Poulson, PhD, and diversity expert Stacey A. Gordon, MBA as they discuss the impact of diversity and bias on the algorithmic and ethical sides of data work in an evolving context. To make the experience even better, take 30 minutes and first watch Stacey Gordon's course "Unconscious Bias" (https://lnkd.in/gHUTs2MA), which was the #1 course on LinkedIn Learning in 2021. We look forward to meeting with all of you to discuss these critical topics. #DataIsForDoing #LinkedIn #OfficeHours #Data #DataAnalysis #DataScience #Diversity #DEI #Bias

🌟 Breaking the Cycle of Overachievement: Embracing Self-Compassion and Balance 🌟 Let's talk about the pressure to overachieve—especially for women of color. It's a familiar story: the relentless pursuit of perfection, the constant need to prove ourselves, and the belief that we must always do better, be better, and do more. For too long, women of color have faced impossibly high standards, expected to excel in every aspect of life while navigating systemic barriers and biases. We're often labeled as overachievers and perfectionists. But here's the truth: It's okay to not always give 150%. It's okay to set boundaries, prioritize well-being, and recognize that good enough is truly good enough. Why is it so hard to take a breather? Why do we feel the need to constantly go above and beyond, even at the expense of our mental, emotional, and physical health? Part of it stems from a culture that glorifies busyness and equates self-worth with productivity. We've been conditioned to believe that our value is tied to our ability to perform, achieve, and excel. For women of color, the pressure to prove ourselves in predominantly white spaces only heightens these expectations. But we don't have to buy into this narrative. We can redefine success on our own terms, prioritize self-care and balance, and embrace the concept of "good enough." This isn't about lowering standards or settling for mediocrity. It's about recognizing our inherent worth and understanding that we are enough exactly as we are. It's about celebrating our accomplishments without the constant drive for more. Let's stop going above and beyond just to meet others' expectations. Let's embrace self-compassion and balance, set boundaries, say no, and simply be. Join the conversation and share your thoughts in the comments below. Let's support each other in this journey. And join the #100KConversations campaign to spread the message of self-compassion and balance far and wide!

🌟 Rethinking Diversity Recruiting: It's About Good Recruiting for Everyone 🌟 Let's debunk a common misconception: There's no such thing as "diversity recruiting." Instead, there's just good recruiting—recruiting that considers the talents, skills, and potential of every individual, regardless of their background. When we talk about diversity recruiting, what we're really asking is: Why aren't we including everyone? Why aren't we tapping into the full spectrum of talent that exists in our communities and our world? By reframing diversity recruiting as simply good recruiting, organizations can focus on inclusion and equity in their hiring processes. This means looking beyond surface-level characteristics and prioritizing skills, qualifications, and potential. It involves casting a wide net to attract candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences, ensuring that opportunities are accessible to all. So let's stop talking about diversity recruiting as something separate or optional. Instead, let's recognize that it's simply good recruiting—for everyone. #DiversityRecruiting #GoodRecruiting #ReworkWork

Celebrating an incredible milestone: 100,000 Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese speakers have taken my Unconscious Bias course in their primary language! 🎉 It's wonderful that LinkedIn Learning has translated this course into so many languages. (Links to each language are in the comments) Acknowledging biases is just the beginning; unlearning them is where the real work starts – and that's precisely what my course covers. To "unbias," we must grasp the different biases and prevent them from influencing our decisions. Why take the course? Because this knowledge is vital for our collective commitment to inclusion and belonging for ALL. Ready to join the movement? Join over a million others on this impactful journey here: https://lnkd.in/d-5J_VW #ReworkWork #UnconsciousBias

I enjoyed participating at the Positive Business Conference on the University of Michigan campus where as you can see from this wonderful storyboard, Ronna Alexander captured quite a few of the points I brought up during the opening session yesterday. 1.       We have many blind spots. We don't take the time to notice who's not in the room. Who might we be missing? 2.       We can make the unconscious conscious if we focus, and become more aware, just like breathing. 3.       It's important to recruit with retention in mind. 4.       Psychological safety is one key to productivity. 5.       Flexibility and agility are important leadership traits to be successful moving forward. 6.       Having a sandbox to practice the concepts that are learned in education sessions around diversity, equity and inclusion is vital. 7.       We don't have to jump on current technology trends if we don't have a plan for how to implement them and how they will actually improve our productivity. 8.       Though it can make you comfortable, there is no script for the conversations that we need to have in the workplace. 9.       Learning new skills can be difficult but it is necessary for the future of work. 10. Starting with conversations and using our 100K conversations challenge is a good way to begin increasing awareness. Did anyone capture any other points about DEI in the workplace that I missed? Let me know in the comments. #mgopositive #ReworkWork #AmplifyHuman #100KConversations #DEIAtWork
