"I am David Ng. I have been the managing editor at the Richmond Times-Dispatch since January 2023. My job here is to helpfully bring out the best in everyone whether they report stories, post breaking news online or shoot photos and video. Prior to arriving in Richmond, I was the executive editor at the Providence Journal in Rhode Island, and I have been a masthead editor in the New York City area, including stints at the New York Post and the Daily News. I have served as a Pulitzer Prize for Journalism juror twice and have been honored to be a judge for major newspaper companies in the U.S. Last year, I was named to the list of 'Who’s Who in America.' The two biggest stories that have shaped my life: One was 9/11 watching the World Trade Center towers burn and fall and counting neighbors and friends among the injured and dead. The other was making my way to China where I found the village that my father fled as a boy, and finding that family, long thought dead, were still alive. I am a firm believer that our stories are a bridge to each other, and it is what connects all of us." — David Ng, Richmond Times-Dispatch managing editor Support local journalism by becoming a Times-Dispatch subscriber today. "My name is Colleen Curran. I’ve worked at the Richmond Times-Dispatch since 2007, covering arts and entertainment and features. Before that I was the editor of Richmond.com, an independent website, prior to its purchase by the Richmond Times-Dispatch. I grew up in the Midwest and graduated from New York University, followed by a stint in Chicago. I moved to Richmond to attend graduate school at Virginia Commonwealth University and fell in love with Richmond. The architecture and the cobblestones, the Fan District and the James River, the artists and murals and Plan 9. I thought it was the coolest, most authentic city I’d lived in yet. I got a job at Richmond.com and never looked back. At the Richmond Times-Dispatch, I’ve covered arts and entertainment, features, business and news. During the pandemic, I covered the childcare crisis, working women being pushed out of the work force and the first positive documented COVID case in the city. I’m currently the Features editor where I cover the Richmond dining scene and its many challenges such as inflation, labor and the meals tax fiasco. I’ve interviewed artists and celebrities like Ethan Hawke and Dave Chappelle. But these days, I more enjoy talking to regular Richmonders, finding out their stories, their problems, their issues, and what can be done to fix them." — Colleen Curran, Richmond Times-Dispatch features editor Support local journalism by becoming a Times-Dispatch subscriber today.
