About us

Rideshare Diva was created to share news, tips, and ideas regarding peer-to-peer sharing industry. As a self-employed Lyft driver, I use the website and social media outlets to discuss relevant topics. This site was created out of my new, unfolding love for Lyft and the concept of ridesharing. My name is Suzanne K Richards and I’m a 40-year-old Lyft driver in Chicago. My understanding of ridesharing comes from an entirely different perspective. In the early 1990’s, soon after the American’s with Disabilities Act became law, I began working as a customer service rep processing applications for people with disabilities to use the local ADA shared-ride program. After I received my undergraduate degree, I continued working in the human service field with jobs such as residential coordinator (home for people with severe mental illness), job coach for people with developmental disabilities (formerly known as mental retardation), instructor at a business school for high school and adult students with both physical and cognitive disabilities, travel trainer (one-on-one instruction, training disabled individuals to travel independently on public transportation), and, as fate would dictate, ADA Certifier (similar to the customer service job, but at a much larger city and greater scale of responsibility).
