Michigan State University's civil engineering students took a field trip to our Kasson Sand and Gravel operation. They enjoyed learning how the aggregates are processed. The trip was part of a week-long sediment workshop offered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. #aggregates #aggregatesupply #sandandgravel

Our marketing manager, Emily Bay, had the opportunity to share with the industry what Rieth-Riley is doing to support the Civil Construction Pathway within Indiana high schools. It was a great day of collaboration and learning from each other!
🚧 Building the Future Together! 🚧 Recently, we brought Indiana civil construction companies and organizations together to share success stories, tips, and strategies for connecting with high schools and attracting the next generation of workers. The collaboration was a huge success, and we're confident that together, we're paving the way for a more skilled workforce in civil construction! Thank you to everyone involved, and we are excited for the next meeting. 📷 Charlie McCullough

We want to welcome Northern Venture to our Central Dock! A 509' self-unloading cargo freighter made her maiden voyage and brought trap rock from Ontario, Canada. The crew was treated to donuts from Rise ‘n Roll of Indiana and a very nice lunch from Plank's Tavern on the Water located inside the The Inn at Harbor Shores. As always, Michael Moran, Harbor Master and with St. Joseph and Benton Harbor Shipping News, provides a warm welcome! 📸 ~ Michael Moran

Our Workforce Development Team had a great opportunity to engage with high school students in the Civil Construction Pathway program. During our recent visit to Hamilton Heights, Frankfort, and John Glenn, we were able to present and deliver essential PPE. The students are enthusiastic about exploring careers in the horizontal industry. #WorkforceDevelopment #PPE #CivilConstructionPathway #CareerExploration #WorkInRoads

Safety Reminder! Patience can go a long way when stopping for buses and crosswalks. Leave the house a few minutes earlier so you aren't tempted to speed in school zones or let slower traffic make you late. Kids hanging out at bus stops may cause slowdowns, and don't forget when schools let out for the day. Anxious teens leaving school can also cause traffic snarls. Slow down and be courteous to other drivers and pedestrians. Great reminder, Willie! 🛑🚌

It was a great visit with Michigan House Representative John Fitzgerald and the City of Wyoming, MI!
Thank you, Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc. and the City of Wyoming, MI, for hosting Michigan House of Representatives member John Fitzgerald at the Rieth-Riley Wyoming asphalt plant and on the 54th Street project! It was a great opportunity to give the Representative a behind-the-scenes look at the technology and planning involved in producing quality asphalt mixtures, and to introduce him to all the great people we work with every day. We look forward to working with Representative Fitzgerald and the rest of colleagues soon to create a long-term, adequate, and sustainable funding plan that will allow Michigan to fix the roads once and for all! Thanks again, and as always, thank you to Kelley Cawthorne for your efforts in setting this up! #Fixthedamnroads #asphalt #asphaltpaving #education

Last Thursday night, the Cal-Region hosted a stellar Customer Appreciation event at the Gary SouthShore RailCats. The event was a resounding success, with an impressive turnout of over 300 attendees. Among the distinguished guests were eight Mayors and Town Managers, two County commissioners, and a United States Congressman. Additionally, the event saw the participation of local public works directors, municipal staff, various engineering firms, local contractors, private customers, asphalt yard sales customers, and our dedicated staff. The highlight of the evening was when the mayors, town managers, and our own Dan Foreman threw out the first pitch. This was followed by a memorable moment when they all joined forces to drag the infield in the fourth inning—a truly engaging and collaborative evening celebrating our valued customers and community partners. ⚾
