The Rigetti Computing Ankaa-2 system is now available on Amazon Braket (see https://lnkd.in/gue2WSgy). Rigetti quantum processors are universal, gate-model machines based on tunable superconducting qubits. Rigetti's Ankaa-2 system is an 84-qubit processor based on a tiled, tunable-coupler based architecture enabling significantly faster gate operation times, improved fidelities, and four-fold qubit connectivity enabling customers to run deeper circuits with up to 15 μs qubit coherence times. The Ankaa-2 system provides users with both fine grained control and efficient variational feedback loops to explore problem spaces in chemical simulation, combinatorial optimization, and machine learning. 🚀 Rigetti Computing's Ankaa-2 QPU is available now on #AmazonBraket via Amazon Web Services (AWS). This 84-qubit superconducting device includes advanced features on Braket including pulse control, verbatim compilation, and an 'any time' availability window. Compared to the previous Aspen-M-3 family, Ankaa-2 delivers improved gate operation times and increased median two-qubit gate fidelities. The qubits on the Ankaa-2 chip are arranged in a square lattice so that each qubit is designed to have four nearest neighbors allowing for a more efficient mapping of applications to the device layout. 📃 Read more in the blog by Zia K. Yesterday, I finally wrapped up my Summer 2024 internship at Rigetti Computing. As a Quantum Algorithms intern, I got the opportunity to work on QAOA, something that I had never done before in my PhD and also further got to develop a novel algorithm that is efficient in the number of qubits used. I would like to thank Bhuvanesh Sundar and Mark Hodson for recognizing the potential in me and giving me an opportunity to work on this wonderful project! I also got the opportunity to meet my fellow co-interns Ho Nam Nguyen, Tanmai Pathak, Anjali J., Shivani Varma, Shuhul Mujoo, Sarah Strong, Tina Oberoi and Chandrashekhar Rao Gaikwad and get to know their respective projects as well! I hope we all cross paths again sometime in the future 😁 With Kim Harvey's and Jackie Kaweck's fantastic aid, the HR process remained super smooth right from the interview process all the way to the end of the internship 🙌 Finally, I would also like to thank my advisor Dr. Swaroop Ghosh for allowing me to go for this internship and get some good quantum computing research experience. Overall, as I move on towards the final stretch of my PhD I will always cherish the fact that I got to be a part of the amazing culture at Rigetti and make my own contribution towards it. ❤️

Last week, I concluded an extremely rewarding internship at Rigetti Computing as a Quantum Engineer Intern at the Berkeley office! This opportunity opened my eyes to the extensive work put into making superconducting quantum computers a reality. I did a deep dive into the intricacies of chip design and simulation and got hands-on experience with Rigetti's chip infrastructure. My project culminated with a presentation to some of Rigetti’s quantum engineers, fellow interns, and the leadership team. I feel so grateful to have collaborated so closely with some of the most intelligent, humble, and passionate scientists in pursuit of Rigetti's mission. A big thank you to my mentor, Prasad Sarangapani, for all of his guidance and support and Alysson Gold for being such a source of inspiration. And a special shout-out to Ho Nam Nguyen and Chandrashekhar Rao Gaikwad for always an entertaining lunch! I look forward to my senior year and utilizing skills from this opportunity in completing my physics thesis and continuing a career in quantum computing! #quantumcomputing #rigetti #physics

We are excited to announce that our paper introducing our novel fabrication technique, Alternating-Bias Assisted Annealing (ABAA), was published earlier this week in Nature Communications Materials. ABAA allows for more precise qubit frequency targeting, thereby enabling improved execution of 2-qubit gates and further improvements in performance. This technique is now being leveraged to fabricate chips for Rigetti QPUs, including the Novera™ QPU and the upcoming Ankaa™-3 system.
