🌟 📣 During our Team Meeting today, Rock The Street, Wall Street CEO Ashley Leftwich and COO, Johannah Mullenix shared a great article in celebration of Women’s Equality Day! 🎉 🇺🇸 ✨ Kudos to author Julia Sandvoss of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis for highlighting the significance of the 19th Amendment and the ongoing journey toward gender equality. The article features a powerful quote from Rakhee Bhayani, MD, DOM’s Vice Chair for the Advancement of Women’s Careers and Professor of Medicine: 💬 “It means breaking down barriers to create an environment where women thrive in all aspects of their lives and can reach their potential without discrimination or bias. It’s about not only celebrating but championing women’s voices, perspectives, and contributions. Though we’ve come a long way, there’s still work to do.” 🚀 🎓 📊 At RTSWS, we’re proud to champion this work with our volunteers by equipping talented young women with the Financial & Investment fundamentals so they thrive from classrooms to careers. 📚 📈 #Equality #Inclusion #GirlsRockFinance https://lnkd.in/gWBT2niK

Today I attended my first Canadian Advisory Board meeting of Rock The Street, Wall Street and I see why they say they’re putting the M in STEM! The organization empowers talented young women through immersive financial programs and mentorship opportunities and strives to inspire them to pursue careers in finances. Their results speak volume: RTSWS alumnae are pursuing finance, economics and related degrees at a rate 5X higher than the average female university student and show an increase of 70% in financial and investment literacy. Finance is a competitive field, but empowering young women with equal footing will shape the future of finance in Canada – and elevate a new generation of female leaders. I can’t think of a smarter investment than that. 🎬 We’re delighted to share this powerful video of RTSWS Board Member Michelle Borré, a respected investor and former senior portfolio manager from her days at OppenheimerFunds. Michelle's insights into investing remain as relevant today as when they were first conveyed. At Rock The Street, Wall Street , we proudly feature this in our Alumnae & Career Center offering our young women insightful perspectives. 📊 One of our favorite lines is Michelle's observation that while economics assumes everyone makes rational decisions, in reality, people often do not. 🌟 Michelle explains, “Look at the data AND the real world. The data tells me where to start asking questions, and the human element reveals how a company is likely to act. Do they have the foresight to protect themselves, or are they stuck in outdated practices and unable to adapt to the changing world?” She also discusses managing risk and the opportunities and challenges of investing in things that haven’t happened yet. What an exciting career and a valuable perspective to share with our RTSWS Community! 📈 This approach of combining data with real-world insights is a guiding principle for us. In fact, our CEO, Ashley Leftwich, shares a similar passion for data. With her background in statistics and mathematics, Ashley brings that enthusiasm to our young women in every interaction. Thank you, Michelle, and the entire RTSWS Board, for your valuable contributions and support in expanding the talent pipeline! Equality at the Olympics 🥇 As this year’s Olympics come to a close, we’re celebrating more than just the incredible performances of the athletes. This year marked a historic milestone for gender equality, with women making up 50% of the participants for the first time. It’s a powerful symbol of progress and inclusion. Equally inspiring is the introduction of a nursery for the first time for parents, breaking down barriers for those balancing elite sports with family life. Team GB’s remarkable performances have made us proud, but the true victory extends beyond the medals. This progress in the sports world reflects a broader societal shift towards equality, demonstrating that when opportunities are equally accessible, everyone benefits. This isn't just about sports. It’s a glimpse into a future where gender parity is the norm in every field. #FTSEWomenLeaders #GenderEquality #EqualityInSports #Olympics2024 Vivienne Artz OBE FCSI (Hon) CMgr CCMI AIGP Penny James Nimesh Patel Laura Needham Monique Carter Chris Grigg
