RoGo Communications develops satellite-enabled devices to improve communication & track resources in remote areas.
About us
RoGO Communications is developing an advanced satellite integrated communication solution including devices and software designed to enable wildland firefighters to communicate and access data in remote areas where cellular service is unreliable or not available. We are creating life-saving technology that will help you locate your resources on the ground, provide real-time wind speed and wind direction, predictive analytics, and communications in austere locations. Our mission is to deliver a communication system that will save lives, reduce expense and property damage as well as improve firefighter situational awareness by ensuring a productive deployment of emergency responders and a more effective hazard response execution utilizing state of the art communications systems. On today's large wild land fires, there is a lack of current and consistent communication technology to support the firefighting personnel - resulting in communications inaccuracies, no communication at all and limited timely updates. This is primarily due to the constant hand-off of information between parties (think the telephone game), no VHF or cellular service in remote areas, use of two way radios and the large distances between parties in a remote emergency scene. RoGo has developed patented integrated satellite communications system incorporating GPS-enabled satellite enabled tablets/phones, transceivers and portable GPS receivers/transmitters (Dropballs) to enable firefighters to communicate with the incident commanders and emergency response operations in real time and share up to the minute vital scene information, like the status & location of firefighters, weather changes, resource GPS position, Maps, photos and changes in assignment.

We are following the Wapiti Fire that is currently burning through Boise National Forest and will bring you updates as they become available. ➡ As of Monday, August 26, 2024, the fire has burned approximately 68K acres; ➡ Currently first responders are predicting complications with containing the fire due to continuously dry conditions; ➡ Type 1 helicopters are dropping water on the fires. We will keep you posted as conditions evolve and our hearts are with those impacted by this fire, those on the ground fighting the fire, and all of the first responders. Please continue to share RoGO Communications LinkedIn page, as we focus on growing our presence as we work to bring our lifesaving technology to the wildland fire industry to prevent fatalities in these catastrophes. Shout out to all the women in this industry! It's a tough field for anyone, and even more so for women in a male dominated industry! #womensequalityday #rogofire
A crew of Bureau of Land Management - Colorado firefighter women and nonbinary individuals joined Bureau of Land Management Director Tracy Stone-Manning for an open discussion about workplace equity and their shared experiences of working in male-dominated career fields! Started by the Bureau of Land Management, this fire crew based out of Western Colorado is now an interagency program with the U.S. Forest Service and Western Colorado Conservation Corps. Now for Some RoGOOD News!! We are always striving to keep our audience informed, but unfortunately, in our line of business, that can frequently mean being the bearer of bad news. We got to thinking about this, and we'd like to change that! Unfortunately, we can't change the number of wildland fires, NOT YET (but we are on our way to it!), but we CAN bring you happy news stories amidst the tragedies for which we want to raise awareness and compassion. With that in mind, we will be bringing a "Now for Some RoGOOD News" segments to your newsfeed each month! https://lnkd.in/gJANVvtj

Friends, it is not our intent to bring you sad news and we gain no joy in reporting wildfires so frequently, but we believe it is important to keep the public aware of just how many wildland fires are ongoing and how much they have increased in the past decades and how we can all help. The largest wildfire of the century, in Jasper National Park, B.C., Canada, has devastatingly consumed roughly a third of the town's buildings. Many of the locals' lives have been completely turned upside down and while the local fire chief did not hesitate to spring his team into action to protect the town, his own home burned to the ground. Wildlife and ecosystems are destroyed in this heartbreaking photo of a bear protecting a carcass. https://lnkd.in/gSmfDMJk #wildlandfire #fireandsafety #fireandrescue #rogocommunications #technology #thales #iridium #metocean #communication #artificialintelligence #jasperbc

We are committed to bringing updates to you, both the good and the bad, but we are devastated at how many fires we have already had to report only halfway through the year. Right now, the largest active fire in the nation, in Butte County, California. It is tragedies like these that keep us committed to our mission, to bring technology and communication together, to save lives. Follow our journey as we strive to bring live wind direction and wind speed tracking capabilities through our Dropblock devices to every wildland firefighter team in the country. THAT is how we will help save lives. THAT is our GOAL. Check out the article below by NPR with live and up-to-date coverage on the Butte County wildfire. #wildlandfire #fireandsafety #fireandrescue #rogocommunications #technology #thales #iridium #metocean #yarnellhillfire #communication #artificialintelligence #buttecountywildfire https://lnkd.in/gJNt3pJZ
NPR on Instagram: "About 4,000 personnel are fighting the Park Fire, the biggest active blaze in the nation. With slightly cooler weather over the weekend, they were able to increase containment. Firefighters are working around the clock to contain the blaze. Since it began on July 24, the fire has burned more than 353,194 acres according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protectio

🎇 Fireworks, 💗 Family Reunions, 🎶 Concerts, 🍔 Barbecues, 🥪 Picnics, 🎉 Parades, ⚾ Baseball Games, 🏕 Camping 💥 It's 4th of July week and many of us will have a 4 day weekend! 💥 But that also means an increase in wildland fire hazards, too! With increased dryness from droughts, increased temperatures, campfires, and fireworks, this is the perfect storm for wildland fires! Please remember fire safety this holiday season: 🔥 Make sure you put your campfires out properly. 🔥 Drown your fire with water and use shovel or other tool to dig through the fire and cool it down. 🔥 If your fire is too hot to touch, it's too hot to leave! Check out our friends at the U.S. Forest Service for these and more fire safety tips to keep your family and neighborhood safe this holiday! https://lnkd.in/gZCsjXKB

It is a somber day in the wildland fire community, as we look back and remember 19 fallen heroes, The Granite Mountain Hotshots of the Yarnell Hill Fire tragedy. Yarnell is a small community and the fire started out small and quickly became one of the greatest tragedies in our community, when wind direction changed and the fire started burning "from west to east and east to west and collapsed on the firefighters in the middle," Bob Brandon, Firefighter. We want to honor the fallen and hear from a few survivors in this clip with several firefighters, family, and friends of those lost on that tragic day. https://lnkd.in/gZ5Ay8bq "Everything was black and gray. There was no color at all. It was horrifically hot. We were just horrifically hot. There was no script. There is no training for that." Battalion Chief, Ralph Lucas reflects on the Yarnell Hill tragedy in the 2023 ten year anniversary. #YarnellHillFire
