Two of our incredible teachers will be featured speakers at this summer's virtual Seesaw conference in August! This free online event is designed for K-12 educators. Bryanna Doran from Lewis Lemon will delve into the realm of digital portfolios for multilingual learners. She will also be sharing her expertise as a K-5 ESL teacher and Teacher Technology Support Specialist. Bryanna has led multiple trainings on Seesaw and other tech tools, helping educators integrate technology effectively in their classrooms. Jason Peters from Constance Lane will dive into the various Seesaw tools available to help students demonstrate and explain their work. His insights will empower you to make better-informed decisions for both whole group and small group instruction.

Junior Promise Program Celebration: In collaboration with Rockford Promise, 243 7th & 8th grade RESA Middle School students were recognized this morning for attaining a 3.0 GPA. They were encouraged by the opportunities available through Rockford Promise if they continue striving this way through high school. In addition to Promise scholar speakers, Mayor Tom McNamara also spoke to the students. WAY TO GO!

Last night, we kicked off and celebrated 26 RPS 205 employees who are embarking on a new journey. The RISE (Rockford Inspiring School and Community Excellence) Program is for current RPS employees in student-facing positions, like paraprofessionals, Parent Community Liaisons, Behavior Intervention Specialists, and others, to earn their degree in elementary education. The RISE program is a partnership with RPS, NIU, and GYO Grow Your Own. Congratulations!

Jefferson High School invited students and families from southeast Rockford to attend the J-Hawk Jamboree. The event had literacy and numeracy games, cultural connections and celebrations, community partners, and an open pool with lifeguards. Jefferson staff and students manned the event facilitating games and disseminating prizes.
