Some systems at RWJBarnabas Health have been impacted by the Global Microsoft outage. This is not a cyberattack. Our teams are working to remediate the issue as soon as possible. As always, patient safety is our highest priority. Out of an abundance of caution, we are delaying some scheduled procedures until this situation is resolved and will share updates as they are available. Thank you for your patience. #LetsBeHealthyTogether

Earlier this year, we joined the City of Newark to cut the ribbon for Hope Village 2, a new transitional housing community in Newark. RWJBarnabas Health understood the criticality of supporting Hope Village 2 in order to bolster the effort to end chronic homelessness in Newark. The system provided needed funding for furnishings for these new transitional residences, amenities for daily living and community health workers, who connect residents with needed healthcare resources. The RWJBarnabas Health Social Impact & Community Investment practice (SICI) leverages RWJBarnabas Health’s broad range of assets to advance a culture of health and improve the quality of life for communities throughout New Jersey. Working with community partners like Hope Village 2 allows us to fulfill our mission to help build and sustain a healthier New Jersey. Keep an eye out for more videos in the coming weeks showcasing what our SICI and health equity teams are doing for the communities we serve. #LetsBeHealthyTogether RWJBH Health Equity

RWJBarnabas Health has been awarded a grant from the New Jersey Food Security Initiative (NJFSI) to support a first-of-its-kind program in New Jersey to embed Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Navigators in each of our 12 acute care hospitals. The goal of the program is to improve food security and reduce hunger by enhancing access to food, a healthy diet, and nutrition education for low-income residents. Under the initiative, highly trained navigators in each of our acute care hospitals will work closely with individuals to enroll them in SNAP and connect them with other food access resources, including the appropriate county office in their county. SNAP Navigators will also assist with the recertification process when necessary. Read more about this initiative at https://lnkd.in/eSJ8yehk #LetsBeHealthyTogether #foodsecurity
