  • Every family needs help sometimes. When parents come to the Crisis Nursery for help, they could be experiencing any number of different crisis situations: A new mom needs support for her postpartum depression. A new dad needs to seek emergency medical care. A young couple without family support is trying to keep up with a changing employment schedule. A grandmother takes over guardianship of a toddler and needs to find new housing to accommodate her family's changing needs. No matter what life throws at Sacramento families, the Crisis Nursery is here 24/7 to provide a safe place to stay for kids when they need us the most. This program relies on dependable, ongoing support from generous community members like you. Starting at just $10/month, you can become a Sustainer, helping to prevent child abuse and neglect every day. • During their stay at the Crisis Nursery, Anna and David got to play, laugh and develop age-appropriate skills. The comforting, home-like environment of the Nursery allowed the twins to sleep soundly, eat nutritious meals, and engage in activities that were exciting for each of them as individuals. There are hundreds of kids like Anna and David who rely on the Crisis Nursery to keep them safe during an important time in their development. This early intervention prevents child abuse and neglect in our community and gives parents the tools they need to build a strong future for their families. Please share this story to support the work of Sacramento Children’s Home’s Crisis Nursery. #crisisnursery

  • We followed this adorable backpack on its journey from a donation from @SafeCU to distribution to our Meadowview Family Resource Center @meadowviewbirthandbeyond for their distribution event last week. Thanks to Safe CU, this little girl was beaming in her new floral and pink backpack! This is what you, the community, do for our families in need! 👏🎒
