After the courageous care that first responders provided to patients during a time of crisis last March, Shauna and Deputy Randy Krantz knew they wanted to find a way to show their support. Yesterday, they hand-delivered sweet treats of appreciation to our Emergency Department colleagues in honor of their daily work caring for first responders and families across the Treasure Valley. “We are forever grateful for the highly trained doctors, nurses and staff at Saint Alphonsus that care for our first responders, in what could be the most frightening time of their life, as well as their families," Shauna Krantz shared. “We wanted to recognize the hardworking staff and say thank you for treating our blue family like your own, with the best care possible. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Keep up the amazing work.” Thank you to Shauna from Holland's Bites and Brews, Sea State Coffee, GASTONS BAKERY, and The Chef’s Store Meridian for their generous donations to support our team! And a huge thank you to the tireless work of our emergency responders! #ourcallingisyou #trauma #emergencyresponders #firstresponse

When 11 in 100 female Idahoans will die from breast cancer within five years of diagnosis – we know prevention matters. This week, we partnered with Stampede for the Cure at the Snake River Stampede where more than $100,000 in funds were raised in the fight against breast cancer! “Idaho ranks 50th in the nation in breast cancer screenings,” shared Clint Child, President of Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Nampa and President of the Snake River Stampede Board of Directors. “The Stampede for the Cure really found that there is a big gap in preventative screenings, and we need to close it. It's important to not only Saint Alphonsus, but to the community.” Breast Cancer Center Manager Heidi Bourget has seen the need and strong community health partnership that provides screening and diagnostic breast care services to those underserved women in the community. “We graciously thank the Stampede for their generosity in providing funding for those women who may not get the critical screening and diagnostic exams if the funds were not available to them,” she said last night. Take a look at the photo recap from all the fun yesterday at Pink on the Dirt and Pink Night at the rodeo. To continuing the fight against breast cancer! #ourcallingisyou #breastcancerawareness #breastcancerscreening

Back to school is around the corner, and for many young athletes, it can also mean a time of greater risk for sports-related injuries. Matt Irwin, a talented young quarterback, sustained a fractured shoulder blade while playing football for Owyhee High School. During a tackle, he landed forcefully on his right side, resulting in the injury. Dr. Derek Kunz oversaw his treatment, opting for conservative sports medicine management to allow the bone to heal naturally, followed by a tailored a comprehensive rehabilitation program. The result — restored strength and mobility to Irwin's shoulder and a return to the field in optimal health and performance. Watch the video to learn more about his journey to healing. #ourcallingisyou #sportsmedicine

From local to national, we are celebrating! On June 28, Apogee Physicians, the largest entirely physician-owned and operated Hospitalist group in the nation, named President of Eastern Oregon Dina Ellwanger “CEO of the Year” and Program Director for Saint Alphonsus Medical Director-Ontario Hospitalist Services Dr. Augustine Okeke “Program Director of the Year." This award recognizes high-performing providers from more than 30 states who consistently demonstrate success from patient satisfaction to recruitment and readmissions. “Dina was honored for her long history of dedication to Apogee patients and providers. Apogee is in its 13th year in Ontario, in great part because of the culture that Dina has built,” said Apogee Division 1 President Dr. Dennis Klein. Dina shared in celebrating Dr. Okeke. “During this past year, Dr. Okeke not only maintained the established program at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario but was very crucial in the onboarding of the new program at another Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Baker City,” she said. Join us in celebrating them both! #ourcallingisyou #easternoregon

Urgent care demand has been on the rise with more than 11,000 urgent care centers opening nationwide since 2019, and Saint Alphonsus is keeping up with this growing demand with today’s opening of the South Nampa Urgent Care Center. Starting July 9, our South Nampa Urgent Care Center, located at 215 E. Hawaii Avenue, will offer same-day treatment for moderate conditions like fevers, colds and flus, bronchitis, and cuts and lacerations. We will also offer unique urgent care services including rapid lab tests and advanced imaging capabilities seven days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM. “Urgent care centers are becoming an important part of our primary care landscape in Idaho, President of Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Dr. Mark Nassir said. “Access matters and this opening offers us another opportunity to meet the Nampa community closer to home.” And be sure to take a look below at some of the inspired Saint Alphonsus colleagues who will be providing care close to home. They celebrated the center’s opening and blessing yesterday, July 8th. #nowopen #urgentcarenampa #UrgentCare
