Be careful with your PMP prep. The things that will serve you well on the exam are very different than what you might expect. It's critical to understand the PMI mindset, not just the basic nuts and bolts of project management's abstract frameworks. You need to know PMI's values and how they are applied in a situation. While some courses on PM basics might count toward your 35 hours of instruction, they will NOT gear you up for the exam specifically. I've spoken with people who have struggled on exam day because they weren't expecting so much gray area and subtlety in the exam. When I teach PMP exam prep, my goal is to help students get "eyes on the road." Learn the frameworks, yes, but prepare for your study and know where your time and focus are best spent.
