You can pick up clothing, new shoes, food, personal items, and much more for FREE! Let's come together and support our community! 💪💙

In the maze of life’s challenges, few stories highlight the transformative power of resilience and faith as clearly as Greg's. Greg had a very tough childhood, surrounded by parents deep in the grip of addiction. Greg soon found himself caught in the same web of despair, turning to drugs and alcohol as a child. By age 13, he was lost, facing the harsh reality of homelessness. After struggling for several years on the streets as an addict, Greg made the tough decision to surrender himself to a higher power. Guided by newfound faith, he sought refuge in The Salvation Army Centre City - San Diego after connecting with officer Captain Jeremy. The Salvation Army became his lifeline, offering support, compassion, and the tools for Greg to rebuild his life. Greg is proud to share he graduated from The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center in late 2022. And now he wants to encourage others to follow his path out of the darkness and into the light, “I knew there was hope out there, and being a soldier was my hope so I could show people that I was where you were at and now I'm on the other side.” His long, difficult journey serves as a reminder that, with faith, support, and determination, it’s possible to emerge from the shadows into the light of a renewed life. #SalvationArmy #FeelGoodFriday

The Salvation Army Door Of Hope Rady Campus recently hosted a fantastic pop-up shoe shop! Thanks to the generous donation of 300 brand-new shoes from 2023 Women of Dedication and The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary of San Diego County friend Lena Evans, our residents are stepping into comfort and style. Our staff acted as personal shoppers, ensuring each resident found the perfect fit. Lena shared her happiness, saying, "Seeing these shoes go to the residents fills me with joy." 🎉🎂 Staff and friends were excited to celebrate a special milestone as Boo Sun Lee turned 94! Boo Sun Lee, who frequents The Salvation Army San Diego Citadel Corps Senior Nutrition Program and has made many friends there, enjoyed a day marked with a delicious birthday cake for everyone, exciting bingo games, and thoughtful gifts. As a father of five, Major Rob balances his ministry commitments with the joys and challenges of parenthood, embodying the values of love, dedication, and service both at home and in his role within The Salvation Army. Yesterday at the Door Of Hope Rady Campus, The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Board gathered to discuss the current initiatives of The Salvation Army San Diego and plan upcoming ways they can contribute. Homeless Services Director Megan Dowell joined as a guest speaker to share exciting news about the new Rady Center building scheduled for construction. Once completed, this center will make a significant impact on creating holistic solutions to homelessness.
