Please welcome our new Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Terry Jaqua! While he is new to the CHRO role, Terry has been with SARH for 4 years as the Executive Director of HR. Terry is responsible for all human resources operations including talent acquisition and development, salary and benefit management, employee health services, and the hospital’s wellness program. In his role, Terry develops and executes human resources strategies that support San Antonio’s mission, and its values and organizational culture.

The 39th Annual San Antonio Golf Classic was a huge success thanks to community and business support! More than $400,000 was raised in support of the Campaign for a Healthy Beginning. Proceeds will go toward the Foundation’s $10 million goal to assist in the capital build of a new maternity unit at San Antonio Regional Hospital. Beautiful, sunny skies provided the backdrop for a fun day of golf, auction, raffle and comradery at Red Hill Country Club. Leaf Award Winner – May 2024 Allen Napoles, CNA Latimer Allen is a certified nursing assistant in our Latimer Pavillion. Although he works the night shift, Allen is always a bright light for his patients. He takes great pride in his work, going above and beyond to ensure his patients are clean, comfortable, and well cared for. He was nominated for our Leaf Award by a patient who appreciated the high level of individual care Allen gave him. “Anytime I had questions or needed care, Allen made sure to immediately tend to my needs. His bedside manner was top notch. I truly feel like he cares about his patients and their well-being. I want to thank him for all he does. Daisy Award Winner – May 2024 Nathali Canedo, RN Emergency Department Nathali is a night shift charge nurse in our ER. She is the epitome of what a charge nurse and great leader should be. She guides her team with an infectious, positive attitude. Recently, Nathali demonstrated excellence by going above and beyond expectations as a charge nurse on a stressful weekend night. The team was short staffed, so Nathali jumped in to take on extra tasks everywhere she was needed, ensuring patients were safe. She was professional, respectful, and exhibited excellence to everyone around her. Her leadership was exactly what was needed on a stressful night shift. Incidentally, Nathali has completed her MSN, and is now a Nurse Practitioner. Well done, Nathali! #hereforlife #daisyaward
