Sending our appreciation to last month's partners! We welcomed returning builders Pillsbury Law Firm to our VetRepair site in the Mountain View area to assist with exterior improvements. We also hosted several playhouse workshops with teams from Flatiron Construction and Qualcomm, as well as kids with the Discovery Center at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, as part of special STEM curriculum. We are incredibly grateful for our community's commitment to our cause — thank you!

Building homes, communities, and hope since 1988
About us
San Diego Habitat for Humanity is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and serves San Diego County. Habitat programs are focused on creating homes for ownership by low-income families in need, offering a hand up, not a handout. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, they achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. It is an autonomous 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is governed locally, raises funds locally and builds locally. MISSION Seeking to put God’s love into action, San Diego Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Habitat was founded on the conviction that every man, woman, and child should have a simple, decent and affordable home to live in dignity and safety.

A huge thank you to everyone who made last month's Taste of Home an incredible success. With your help, we raised an amazing $73,000! This wouldn't have been possible without the support of our honorary committee members, food + beverage partners, silent auction donors + participants, Roosevelt Gardens homeowners, and guests. It was a fabulous night filled with great folks, great food + drinks, and lots of smiles. Thank you for helping us create more opportunities for affordable homeownership in our community! It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our two area ReStore locations. This has been one of the most difficult decisions in San Diego Habitat’s history, and we know the impact will be felt throughout the community. As with many retail stores and nonprofits, COVID played a significant role in challenges we experienced at the ReStore, and we have yet to recover. While this closure is heartbreaking, it will provide our organization with the ability to focus on our core mission of creating affordable homeownership opportunities for more working San Diego families. The store closure will allow us to make an even greater impact in San Diego County, ensuring that more families have the opportunity to achieve the dream of homeownership. Important dates: July 27 | Last day for residential pickups July 31 | Last day for donation drop-offs Sept 28 | Last day to utilize ReStore Reward points Oct 31 | Last day of retail operations For more information, please visit https://lnkd.in/gAQ3s_JN. We thank you for allowing us to service your affordable home renovation needs and are forever grateful for the support you have shown throughout the years.
