SCDOT has started to replace the bridge on US 123 North over Georges Creek in Pickens County. The foundation of the bridge has been built and in the coming weeks the first set of beams will be placed along the longest portion of the bridge.

SCDOT and the University of South Carolina held a sign unveiling ceremony at the Colonial Life Arena today. USC Women’s Basketball Coach Dawn Staley, USC Athletic Director Ray Tanner and SCDOT Secretary of Transportation Justin Powell all gave remarks during the event. Copies of this sign, signifying the team’s most recent 2024 national championship win, will be placed at each state welcome center, as well as at other locations throughout the state.
