For nearly 40 years, Daybreak Crisis Homes have given distraught parents a place to go when they are temporarily unable to provide a secure home environment for their children. SCAN is looking for more caretakers who can open their hearts and homes to children. We are hosting a Respite Parent Information Meeting on June 17 via Zoom at 11. The commitment time ranges from four hours up to seven days, and SCAN will provide the necessary training to ensure respite caretakers are prepared to be our partners in protecting children.

Impact Story | Several families attended Safe Sleep events hosted by Community Partners and SCAN's Prevention Coordinators in St. Joseph and Fulton counties. Caregivers received baby bags with essential supplies and agency partners donated additional items that were raffled off every 15 minutes throughout the event. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and watched a safe sleep video explaining the ABCs of Safe Sleep. In total, approximately 54 people received life-saving safe sleep education and information about SCAN and other local agencies over the past few days. Great work organizing these events, Prevention Coordinators!

SCAN is excited to join our partners at the Elkhart County Family Resource Center for their Back To School Event. Join us at the Elkhart FRC from 3-6 to receive free backpacks, while supplies last, and make connections with local resources. Free light refreshments will be provided. The Elkhart FRC is located at 612 E Bristol St, Elkhart, IN 46514.
