District Attorney Hayden was proud to stand with partners, advocates and survivors during Office of Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey’s ceremonial signing of the recent gun safety legislation. This collective action will only strengthen gun violence prevention to ensure the safety of our communities and most importantly, save lives.

DA Hayden had a great time marching alongside the Puerto Rican community and celebrating their rich heritage and culture together during the Puerto Rican Festival of Massachusetts, Inc. parade.

We had a great time hosting the Sociedad Latina Inc STEAM Team and youth leaders! The youth learned about SCDAO, Stop Block Talk, and met with DA Hayden and staff members to discuss internet safety, career opportunities, and what justice means to them.

Happy #NationalInternDay! Our office is currently hosting over 60 talented interns in various units and courthouses. We are appreciative of all your hard work and for choosing SCDAO this summer!

We welcomed all of the 2024 Fellows and had an engaging discussion about the criminal justice system. The John William Ward Public Service Fellowship is a summer program that gives Boston Latin School juniors and seniors the opportunity to gain valuable experience and explore the different possibilities in public service. SCDAO is proud to be a Ward Fellowship sponsor.

Thank you East Boston Senior Center for hosting the #FraudFighters and for providing live Spanish interpretation. We danced, we sang 🎤 and most importantly, we learned about scams and how to stay protected.

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department Summer Enrichment Program visited SCDAO to meet with DA Hayden and learn about the criminal justice system and programs like Stop Block Talk.

SCDAO joined the Boston Police Department on the trails for Hike with a Cop. Thank you to the B3 Community Service office for hosting this fun and active series for the community!

This week, the SCDAO High School Fellows learned about the Child Protection Unit and Now You See. They stand here to celebrate the bravery of and show their support for survivors of child abuse, sexual assault, and exploitation. Thank you to all who are in the fight to increase awareness about abuse.

District Attorney Hayden, First Assistant Ed Zabin and Director of Youth Safety and Outreach Jackie Lamont joined the Winthrop community at the swearing-in ceremony for Police Chief John Goodwin. Congratulations Chief Goodwin! We look forward to working with you in this new role and our continued partnership with the Winthrop Police Department.
