Changing the future of cancer by funding advanced, innovative research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient.
About us
The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, established as a national identity in 2014, is dedicated to changing the future of cancer by funding advanced, innovative research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient. Cancer knows no boundaries of age, gender or race and as our population ages the number of survivors living with the after effects of cancer treatment rises. Cancer care over the past 45 years has advanced in every area and more people are surviving than ever before. Breakthroughs in our understanding of cancer is driving new treatments with less devastating side effects from highly toxic cancer treatments.

CARES is thrilled to welcome Michelle Chianese to our leadership team as our new Director of Development! In this role, Michelle will focus on major gifts, grants, and sponsorships. Michelle is a fundraising professional with 17 years of non-profit experience. Most recently she served as the Senior Executive Director of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Tennessee Chapter, where she began her nonprofit career in 2006 as a part-time Development Coordinator. Originally from Vero Beach, FL, Michelle is always dreaming of her next beach getaway. In her spare time, you can find Michelle traveling to see her favorite bands or visiting a new arena to watch her beloved New York Rangers (Smashville, we'll forgive her!) She lives in Nolensville with her husband Vinny, daughters Calley and Fiona, their cats, and a rescue Australian Shepherd mix.

My name is Ally Jones and I am an Academic Intern with an emphasis in marketing for CARES this summer. Currently, I am attending Emory University where I am involved with Women’s Club Soccer, an all female hip-hop dance team, and a consulting club that helps small businesses in Atlanta. Outside of school, my interests include dance, soccer, traveling, and spending time with the people I love. My experience in service throughout high school and college piqued my interest in working for CARES. I am so excited to learn from the team and show what I have to offer!
