The international counterpart, Sea Change Foundation International (formerly known as Klein, Ltd.), was founded in 2011. International shares the common strategy of providing philanthropic support to nonprofit organizations focused on climate change mitigation and clean energy policy. Sea Change Foundation was founded by co-directors Nat Simons and Laura Baxter-Simons. The foundation focuses on areas such as utility reform, finance, communications, public engagement, transportation, and energy efficiency. Sea Change Foundation features an effective and efficient grant-making process due to the urgent nature of the foundation’s philanthropic focus. The foundation leverages opportunities to engage both market forces and public policy through collaboration and innovation.
