Seattle Parks and Recreation and Acts on Stage, a Black owned and operated community theater, are proud to present the annual Teen Summer Musical, Snow White & The Seven. The summer musical is an opportunity for local teens (mostly of Color) to perform in a musical theater production that reflects their culture and community while learning the disciplines of stage. Summer musical participants earn a stipend for rehearsals and performance during this 10-week summer program.

In response to the huge demand for free fun active outdoor experiences, Seattle Parks and Recreation and many other partners have come together to get people exploring, learning, and having fun with their families. The campaign uses Agents of Discovery®, an educational technology platform that enables educators to create their own augmented reality games – think Pokemon Go for parks and education. The Puget Sound Explorer 6.0 Campaign will run August 1st, 2024 – September 30th 2024. Anyone can join in by downloading the free Agents of Discovery mobile app and completing “Missions”, or games at participating locations. Each Mission is made up of educational “Challenges” that teach players about local history, culture, ecosystems, and even safety. https://lnkd.in/gzT4BGVy

Seafair weekend is here! Green Seattle Partnership has been hard at work all year to begin establishment of very young (& vulnerable!) native plants all along Lake Washington Blvd. from Seward Park to Mt. Baker Beach. 4,000 plants total! For future stabilization of the shoreline, habitat enhancement & continued enjoyment of Seafair celebrations, please be mindful to stay out of areas with fencing and Restoration Site signs. Not all areas were fenced so we encourage participants to watch out for small plants with blue & white flagging. Thank you!
