Two SELCO teams recently visited the Bethlehem Inn emergency shelters in Redmond and Bend to deliver much-needed items from their wish list. These shelters provide a warm, safe place to sleep, nourishing meals, and case management services for adults and children experiencing homelessness in Central Oregon. 💛

A group of SELCO team members joined together for a volunteer project using Volunteer Time Off at FOOD For Lane County! The team packed and labeled food for donations which will be distributed throughout our community. Jill Plumb, Theatre Teacher at Springfield High School, applied for a SELCO Creative Educator Grant the night before applications were due—and was ecstatic when she found out she received a grant to purchase movie making supplies for her classroom! 🎙 Students were able to use the items to create their own short films, which premiered at their annual student film festival in June. 📹 Save the date: We'll be accepting applications for the next round of Creative Educator Grants on August 15! Applications are quick and easy to submit. Meet Jordan! As SELCO's Senior Digital Member Service Specialist, Jordan's days are filled with assisting members digitally and training her team members on best practices. Delicious jam + baked goods to raise money for Friendly House programs and services? Sign us up! 🍰🥧🍪 Local bakers used Friendly Fruit Jam to bake a delicious treat, which were then tasted and voted for at the Friendly Fruit Bake-off and Bake Sale. 🍓✨ The winner of the bake-off was Delicious Donuts, a local donut shop in Portland. They made incredible jam-filled mini donuts. 🍩 Friendly House supports low-income families, children, isolated older adults, people currently experiencing houselessness, those at risk of becoming houseless, and those simply looking for ways to connect with others. We can't wait to start the process to help make the 2024 batch of Friendly Fruit Jam in a couple weeks!
