Earlier this year, the Army Corps of Engineers was working on a floodwall creation project in Cedar Rapids, IA, and they discovered two old, crushed tanks that had been forgotten about (orphan tanks with no known owner). They immediately enlisted Seneca's help for the tank removal. Carrie Baker was the onsite licensed remover and sampler for Davenport Environmental. Davenport Waste Solutions was also there to pump and clean the tanks for certified clean disposal. The job was completed and received approval from the State of Iowa (DNR), City of Cedar Rapids, and the Corps confirming that the job was properly completed, approved, and closed with no contamination in the soil or groundwater.
