Bill Walshe doesn’t care about your professional title. What he cares about is if you give a damn about what you’re doing. After 20 years creating and leading some of the biggest luxury hospitality brands in the world, Bill came to the simple conclusion that successful brands have one thing in common: They make people proud. “Pride is something that fuels excellence, and proud people are allergic to mediocrity,” Bill said from the SLIF stage. “Accepting ‘fine’ as a result is accepting failure.” He asked attendees a simple question: Can you stand in front of your organization for 90 minutes and clearly articulate your company's purpose and goals? If not, it's time to reflect and refine your vision. He encouraged leaders to be unabashed provocateurs, hire infectiously energetic people, and surround themselves with individuals who share their passion, drive, and “who enjoy making people happy.” https://lnkd.in/duYBJB9

At SLIF, AI Strategist Alison McCauley explained that we’re at the beginning of the Cognitive Revolution - that will transform every job, sector, and industry – including senior living. AI is perpetually growing, learning, improving. How can industry leaders stay ahead of this fast-growing technology, and leverage its power in their operations? Firstly, humans are essential to realizing this potential, needing to learn how to effectively communicate with AI. In addition, leaders need to have a deep understanding of their business needs in order to identify where AI can make the greatest impact. The secret sauce isn't just about driving competitive advantage; it's about responsible use with trust and transparency. Leaders need to communicate effectively with AI. Give it clear instructions, collaborate with it, and persist in working with it. And above all, be ethical in your approach. https://hubs.li/Q02Bcrys0

This morning, we had the privilege of hosting Alan Patricof, a legend in venture capital. At 89, Alan’s career spans 50 years, from Wall Street to founding New York Magazine and investing in companies like Apple. When asked by Sarah Thomas about the reason behind the title of his memoir No Red Lights, Alan said, “I live a life with no red lights. I keep an active life. I don’t just look, I participate.” Alan’s story reminded us that age is just a number, and it’s never too late to pursue our passions and make an impact. https://hubs.li/Q02BbSLV0
