ServiceSource and all five of its affiliated organizations were recently reaccredited by CARF International. CARF surveys and accredits health and human services providers worldwide for conformance with internationally recognized standards for quality. “ServiceSource serves individuals with a wide variety of needs," said CARF Administrative Surveyor Cherie Johnson. "Whether through paid employment opportunities, specialized community placement, community integration services, or medical case management, there is a place for each person at ServiceSource." CARF Administrative Surveyor Vic Gable noted that CARF made “no recommendations, putting ServiceSource in an exclusive club. “We truly did a deep dive into all processes and came to this conclusion," he said. It’s not often that a person is recognized as Employee of the Month by a company that’s not their employer, but that’s just what happened to retired U.S. Army Veteran Steven Sparks, who works with ServiceSource affiliate Employment Source on a subcontract at the Army Human Resources Service Center at Fort Knox, Kentucky. After retiring from the Army, Steven joined Employment Source in July of 2022. In addition to fielding telephone inquiries from Veterans, he has become an essential member of the training team, working with all of the employees on-site. Always willing to assist co-workers, when questions involve a matter Steven is unfamiliar with he happily seeks out the information so he is prepared should the issue arise again. InspiriTec, Inc., the prime contractor on the Fort Knox project, named Steven Employee of the Month for going above and beyond to help anyone in need of assistance, regardless of who signs their paycheck. “Coming to work every day and knowing that I get to assist in helping and educating Veterans with their questions or concerns is extremely rewarding,” says Steven. “I am thankful that Employment Source goes above and beyond for its employees, and I look forward to seeing how far I can go with the company.” Thank you to InspiriTec for recognizing Steven’s outstanding work in support of the Army at Ft. Knox. It’s a pleasure to partner with your organization to provide meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Thanks to everyone who attended this morning’s groundbreaking for the Friendship House Cottages! This event marks the launch of the Cottages project, a program of Employment Source, a ServiceSource Affiliate, that will serve as the next step toward independent living for individuals with disabilities in the Friendship House Fayetteville (FHF) integrated housing program. "We are committed to providing critical supports that foster community connections and resilience," says Employment Source Executive Director Jason Amorose. "With support from our rehabilitation staff, Friendship House residents gain sustainable employment and essential life skills.” “Still,” he explains, “we recognize that each individual’s journey is unique, and some aren't ready for full independence by the end of their Friendship House stay. The Cottages offer longer-term housing support, giving residents time to continue learning in a familiar environment as they grow skills and further their independence." Michael Brown, a Friendship House resident, said the Friendship House experience “... has had a tremendous impact on my life, transforming me in numerous ways.” The ServiceSource Foundation is matching funds up to $80,000 to help Employment Source build the cottages. Donations have double the impact thanks to the dollar-for-dollar match: https://lnkd.in/etHNS2Rz. Special thanks to ServiceSource Board Members Weyher Dawson and Dr. Brandt Wood, ServiceSource Foundation Trustee Dr. Franklin Clark, ServiceSource President and CEO Bruce Patterson, ServiceSource Executive Vice President Andy Rind, and County Commissioner Glenn Adams, for attending and showing their support for Employment Source and its mission.

Thank you to the Alexandria (Virginia) Patch for spotlighting our BEST (Building Employment Solutions Together) program in this morning’s edition! BEST is a collaborative project of ServiceSource and the Joey Pizzano Memorial Fund that supports adults with disabilities in developing job skills and building independence while helping businesses meet pressing needs. BEST operates a gift shop on South Patrick Street in Old Town Alexandria that sells craft items made by people participating in ServiceSource programs, with all proceeds going back to the individual artisans. A new BEST gift shop will open on King Street this fall, in time for holiday shopping. People in the BEST program staff the gift shop, talking with shoppers about the products and ServiceSource programs they participate in. The BEST Team is also available to help employers with a variety of tasks, from light cleaning to gift bag assembly, to help prepare for meaningful jobs in the community. https://lnkd.in/eBiJvKTn

ServiceSource is excited to announce our affiliate branding alignment! Starting today, all of our affiliated organizations will use unique names established in their local communities. Using these names reinforces community ties and better reflects our afiliates commitment to local service. Maintaining their relationships with ServiceSource gives our affiliates the benefits of working with a leading service provider with national experience to support their work building inclusive communities. Two ServiceSource affiliates – PARC in Clearfield, Utah, and WorkSource in Charlottesville, Virginia – are already using this model with great success! This week, we’ll be re-introducing each affiliate that’s adopting a new name. For today, we’re excited to share this news and looking forward to supporting all of our affiliates as they work to serve people with disabilities and enrich their lives.
