Uh oh, South Carolina! The Palmetto State may have a state senate without any Republican women following this year’s elections after all 3 “sister senators” lost their primaries, including Senator Katrina Shealy, the state’s longest-serving female senator. The only other women currently serving in the state’s Senate are both Democrats, and Republican women running for open seats in the general election face tough odds. Read more:
