Congratulations to David Cathey, Texas Tech University 2024, winner of the 2024 International Balfour Award! Cathey will graduate from Texas Tech University with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry and general business and will return to Texas Tech for the university’s medical school program. He helped administer COVID-19 tests and vaccinations, taught EMT and EKG courses and worked in various clinics, among others. On campus, Cathey served as the vice president of judicial affairs for the Interfraternity Council at his college and participated in a published research paper to study the biological mechanisms underlying fertility and conception. Developing values-based leaders who are committed to the betterment of character, campus and community.
About us
Sigma Chi (Σχ) was founded on June 28, 1855, at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It was created by seven men between the ages of 14 to 25 as a literary society. The Fraternity's primary purpose, they believed, was to appreciate, develop and promote the core values of Friendship, Justice and Learning. Today, our mission is to develop values-based leaders committed to the betterment of character, campus and community. Sigma Chi's vision is to become the preeminent collegiate leadership development organization — aligned, focused and living our core values. Sigma Chi Fraternity International Headquarters is located at 1714 Hinman Avenue, Evanston, Illinois 60201-0469.

Our summer 2024 issue highlights why fraternities matter today amidst a changing collegiate climate, the value fraternity membership adds to the educational experience, and the better post-graduate outcomes members are statistically proven to have when taking the Transformational Leader Program. We also highlight the 2023 and 2024 classes of the Order of Constantine, the efforts of the Fraternity and Sorority Political Action Committee to preserve and enhance the fraternal experience, the success of the Ritual Peer 2.0 training, and the impact a study abroad experience had on Significant Sig J. William Fulbright, ARKANSAS 1924. Keep an eye out for your copy!

Thank you to all of our brothers, sweethearts, family members and friends for helping Sigma Chi International Fraternity chapters pass our fundraising goal of $3.5 million and surpass the $4 million milestone to the Huntsman Cancer Institute during the 2023-2024 academic year! This couldn’t be done without the teamwork and unity from our chapters and communities to become The Generation to End Cancer! Here are a few of the many highlights from the Huntsman Retreat of Excellence that our brothers and sweethearts got to experience for surpassing $20,000 raised. Tag your chapter that will set a goal of $20K and surpass it! #GenToEnd #InHoc #DerbyDays #SigmaChi #Huntsman #HCF
