    Stimson 2024 Annual Student Competition Deadline: Tuesday, April 30, 2024 The Reimagining US Grand Strategy Program strengthens US foreign policy by testing assumptions, reassessing conventional wisdom, and exploring innovative approaches to international engagement. As part of its mission, the Strategy Program provides a platform for future national security professionals to express their thoughts. Its Annual Student Competition invites undergraduates to share creative ideas for improving U.S. foreign policy, drawing new and innovative talent into the policy space, and providing avenues for young thinkers to engage with leading foreign policy institutions. The submission form will be published the first week of January. Come back to submit, but in the meantime, if you are interested in entering, please read the prompt and begin thinking about your essay. See the information below for a description of the competition’s format and eligibility criteria.

    William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security Fellowship Deadline: Monday, April 29, 2024 Students interested in law enforcement can check out the William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security Fellowship. It is a two-year graduate fellowship program funded by the US Department of State which provides academic funding over two years, two summer practica, professional development, and mentorship, culminating in an appointment as a Diplomatic Security Service Special Agent. To be eligible, applicants must be a US citizen between 19-32 years old (except for preference-eligible veterans), seek admission to a two-year full-time master’s degree program at a US-based accredited institution, hold a minimum 3.2 GPA, pass the Physical Readiness Test <if selected as a finalist>, and have a valid driver’s license <if selected as a finalist>.

    Fellowships for Advanced Social Science Research on Japan Deadline: Wednesday, April 24, 2024 The Fellowships for Advanced Social Science Research on Japan program is a joint activity of the Japan-United States Friendship Commission (JUSFC) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The goals of the program are to promote Japan studies in the United States, to encourage U.S.-Japanese scholarly exchange, and to foster the next generation of Japan scholars in the United States. Awards support research and writing on modern Japanese society and political economy, Japan's international relations, and U.S.-Japan relations. The program encourages innovative research that puts these subjects in wider regional and global contexts, is comparative and contemporary in nature, and contributes to scholarly knowledge or to the general public’s understanding. Appropriate disciplines include anthropology, economics, geography, history, international relations, linguistics, political science, psychology, and sociology. Awards may result in articles, monographs, books, e-books, digital materials, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources.     Remote International Communications Internships with Stipend Deadline: Thursday, April 18, 2024 APSIA is looking for our summer International Communication and Marketing Intern. The internship can be completed from any location, but candidates must be eligible to work in the US and have some availability on ET business hours. Exact schedule is highly flexible. Interns receive a $500 stipend per term and a chance to build their portfolio of website, social media, video, and other content to reach relevant audiences around the world.

    ReNew Democracy Foundation Fellowship Deadline: Monday, April 15, 2024 The ReNew Democracy Foundation Fellowship seeks young leaders who want to make a difference. For nine months, Fellows work side-by-side with center-left Members of Congress and staff on legislative initiatives. Fellows receive a $5,000 monthly stipend, a $300 monthly health care stipend, a $200 monthly transit stipend, a relocation assistance budget, mentoring, and other support. Fellows must be lawfully authorized to work full-time without restriction for any US employer, complete an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in the US or territories by August 2024, be able to relocate to and reside in the DC starting September 9, 2024, be able to participate in person in DC for the duration of the fellowship, demonstrate academic aptitude, and demonstrate an interest in a career in policy and public service.
