EDC systems and paper-based requisition forms have long been the standard for capturing sample metadata at the site and sharing that data with sponsors, labs, and CROs. This week on the blog, we break down how this process may be introducing risk into your trials and what other solutions exist to capture this essential data. #samplemanagement #clinicaltrials #clinicalresearch #biopsecimens #samplemetadata

The platform for highly complex, sample-intensive clinical trials
About us
Slope provides a clinical trial execution platform for sponsors and research sites collaborating on complex, sample-intensive clinical trials. The platform reduces operational chaos for sponsors, CROs, research sites, and labs by providing data-driven oversight into clinical trial activities. Through Slope’s clinical inventory, sample management, and data-driven resupply solutions, the platform enables stakeholder collaboration, real-time visibility, traceable chain of custody, and risk mitigation. This results in improved trial outcomes — including boosting patient enrollment and retention — reduction of supply waste, and adherence to study protocols, timelines, and budgets.

If you've worked in #clinicalresearch long enough, you're likely familiar with the distressing feeling of not knowing where a sample is or why it hasn't been analyzed yet. The lengthy — and often manual — process of tracking down that sample can leave you wondering why there isn't an easier way. This week on the blog, we delve into the roots of this issue and explore the consequences of having a chaotic #samplemanagement process. #datareconciliation #sampletracking #biospecimenmanagement #clinicaltrials

As we announced last month, our nationwide SELF-CERV study completed enrollment ahead of schedule, while exceeding initial enrollment projections. This was made possible because of the exceptional teams at our study sites and the amazing women who raised their hands to participate. Additionally, we had great partners, like Slope to ensure the operations and logistics ran smoothly. Our very own Trena Depel recently participated in Slope Clinical’s Advisory meeting to discuss the value that using Slope’s biospecimen sample management platform brought to our study. Slope is dedicated to driving best practices in biospecimen management and was an invaluable partner to the rapid and successful enrollment of SELF-CERV, with over 1,000 samples to manage. Our clinical sites loved the simplicity of ordering supplies, logging samples, and managing shipments using the Slope platform, and Teal Health appreciated the real-time metrics to understand enrollment and sample movement across our 17 clinical sites and multiple labs. We will certainly be using Slope for our future studies as well. Here are a few highlights of the benefits we measured.

The real danger when encountering an iceberg isn't what can be seen from above the water, but rather what lurks below. Similarly, in clinical trials, the most significant risks are often those that remain unseen — especially when we're discussing sample management. Without comprehensive visibility into the sample management processes performed at sites, sponsors are left in the dark, vulnerable to a potential issues like compromised sample integrity, data inconsistencies, increased costs, and more. Learn which sample management activities you should be keeping an eye on to mitigate these issues and protect study outcomes in our newest blog. #samplemanagement #clinicaltrial #clinicalresearch
