🦋 Butterflies play a crucial role in regenerative land management, acting as key indicators of a healthy, thriving ecosystem. In a recent blog post, Handsome Brook Farms explores how supporting butterfly habitats enhances biodiversity, improves natural pollination, and reduces reliance on chemical inputs on farms. 🌱 By fostering these important pollinators, farmers can create more balanced, resilient ecosystems that benefit both the environment and agriculture. Learn how SCA member, Handsome Brook Farms, is leading the way through thoughtful land management practices to protect and encourage butterfly populations. About us
The Soil & Climate Alliance is housed under Green America Center for Sustainability Solutions. Our mission is advancing a resilient, equitable, and inclusive agriculture system that regenerates soil health, sequesters carbon, and revitalizes farm and rural economics, while improving water quality, biodiversity, food security, and nutrition. We are a community of leaders looking out at the challenges facing our farms, our families and our future and we are responding with solutions. We call forth hope and leadership on soil health to scale regenerative agriculture and reverse climate change. The Network brings together representatives of the entire agriculture supply chain to collaborate over the long term for real impact. We focus on marketplace strategies to rapidly accelerate agricultural system solutions for soil, climate, water, farm economics and food security. Interested in becoming a member? Reach out today.

Don't miss the episode below from the ReGen Brands podcast on mission-driven brands and the importance of telling complex stories. 🌾Our Nutrient Density Alliance got a mention! 🌱They talk about how foods grown using regenerative organic practices are often richer in micronutrients. 🔬 Stay tuned for upcoming research out of our Nutrient Density Alliance on how regenerative farming boosts nutrient density and food quality!
If you are a brand/company interested in #regenerativeagriculture, this is a must-listen episode of the podcast ReGen Brands with Anthony Corsaro (AC). It features Douglas Brown and Jessica Rubino from Newtopia Now, talking about food industry leaders who are focused on producing products that benefit our planet, how to tell complex stories, and why its key to be a mission driven brand. 🌾 We were delighted to get a mention and also hear brands leading in this space whom we admire highlighted like SIMPLi, Lundberg Family Farms, Patagonia Provisions, Alec's Ice Cream and one of our own members Ancient Nutrition! 🐞 We know that foods grown using #organicregenerative practices tend to be higher in numerous micronutrients, especially those beneficial and protective plant chemicals that are synthesized by the plant in response to its environment. The science is simple. When soil is healthy and teeming with microbial life, the plant tends to be healthier, and when we eat that plant, our health can benefit too. 👂🏽 Stay tuned for more research coming out soon (BY US!) around how nature based farming can improve #nutrientdensity and food quality. https://lnkd.in/giAedifQ

Our Nutrient Density Alliance Managing Director, Mary Purdy, MS, RDN, was at Newtopia Now this week connecting with current members and friends. Check out some highlights in the post below, and if you were there, let us know what stood out to you! 💓
It was a delight to spend time at Newtopia Now with friends, colleagues, current NDA members, and soon-to-be (we hope!) new members. 😁 There were wonderful and informative panels about #regenerativeagriculture where our current members were featured like Carolyn Gahn from Applegate; Elizabeth Candelario from Mad Agriculture, Kristie Cerutti from Ancient Nutrition, as well as our allies and pals, and those we admire from The Climate Collaborative, Organic Trade Association, Regenerative Organic Alliance and Sarah Jones Farms, Finian Makepeace from Kiss The Ground, Ryan Pintado-Vertner from Smoketown, LLC, Anthony Corsaro (AC), Kristine Root from Regenified™ , Non-GMO Project, Sophie Egan as well as Merge Impact and Sherry Hess (both members!) 🎤 We also appreciated the panel "From Legacy to Leadership: Black Culinary History and the Future of CPG" with reps from Uncle Waithleys Beverage Company, Ms. Betty's Cooking, VMG Partners and Adrian Miller (Soul Food Scholar) learning about the roots of Black Foodways, but also getting a call to action to work towards creating more and better pathways/access for BIPOC owned natural/organic products. 📌 All in all, a fabulous event. Can't wait for next year. Hopefully WE'LL be on on a panel talking about nutrition and human health related to regenerative and organically grown foods.

We’ll discuss different policy approaches and priorities regarding past and future Farm Bills and how rethinking the food system more broadly offers options that uplift and support farmers, farmworkers, animals, and most importantly… you.
