Alarming news in the world of mycology! The Lancet recently published findings on a sixth clade of Candida auris, which has been making waves in the media. We're proud to share that Solu's candida.app tool is fully capable of classifying clade 6 samples. We will be presenting a poster about the app next week at #IMC12 in Maastricht, see you there!

Mobile colistin resistance found in supermarket chicken 😬 Solu was recently featured in 2 articles by the United Arab Emirates University Veterinary Public Health Laboratory. The researchers found pathogenic bacteria in supermarket chicken samples. Whole genome sequencing revealed mobile colistin resistance and ESBL E.coli in locally produced chicken – a first such discovery in the UAE. 🔎 New Case Study: Exploring Candida auris nosocomial outbreaks with Solu Platform We're pleased to share our latest case study where we used the Solu Platform to analyze a dataset of 21 Candida auris samples, a challenging fungal pathogen known for its multidrug resistance. Key Findings: - Accurate Identification: The platform successfully identified the species and resistance genes for each sample. - Outbreak Detection: Detected three potential outbreaks, consistent with previous findings. - Comprehensive Analysis: Produced phylogenetic tree illustrated evolutionary relationships and potential transmission routes.
