Join us in welcoming Sri Ummethala as a new Project Manager on the Sorba team! Sri is an engineer by nature, with a passion for work as long as he can remember. While he’s a seasoned professional, his motto is “Every day, learn something new!” He brings that spirit of curiosity and problem-solving to every project he manages. In his spare time, Sri loves to cook. #NationalEngineersWeek

Happy Engineers Week! Our team is excited to be the civil engineer on the job at Virginia Tech’s Innovation Campus. This 300,000 SF three-building complex for teaching, research, office, and support spaces for graduate-level Computer Science and Computer Engineering programs.    Sorba is excited to contribute to the next generation of engineers through our site work. This includes stormwater management, surface grading, and location identification of proposed roads, walks, plazas, loading docks, and parking. When completed the campus will embody the design principles of sustainability, health and wellness, green and social spaces, accessibility, connectivity, flexibility, and integrated technology.

Did you know that a Marine Corps Reservist founded Toys for Tots over 75 years ago? This organization is located nearby in Virginia and is one of our favorite causes to support. This year's toy drive brought in books, basketballs, space sets, science kits, and much more to brighten the holidays for local kids. Thank you to all who donated!

Please join us in welcoming John Jolly to the Sorba team as our newest Project Manager! John brings deep knowledge of distinct projects in the DC area, including an agency Headquarters, where the new building was built around critical infrastructure that had to stay active throughout the entire construction process.    John’s favorite college courses focused on water resource engineering and hydrology, and his first job out of college was designing floodgates around Lake Okeechobee in Florida as part of the Army Corp of Engineers Everglades restoration program. In his spare time, John cheers on Boston and New England teams. We won’t hold that against him!
