I am grateful to have had the opportunity of representing the UK Space Agency at the International Space University #SSP24 Alumni Conference in Houston, Texas. I had the chance to gain insight into international space developments as well as a better understanding of the USA space sector, especially the progress made in Houston and at Rice University. We were able to engage with the local industry and academia, participate in lectures and a TEDxISU talk, and to visit the facilities at Space Center Houston. I am also tremendously grateful to have had the chance to catch up with the #SSP23 friends, to engage with the other alumni, and to meet new participants from SSP24. Spending time with the ISU community and around people who share the same passion for space always brings me incredible happiness and a renewed sense of purpose. I am thankful to be a part of this community and I am looking forward to our future adventures together! 🚀

🚀 Today we had an incredible time partnering with Typhoon Texas in Katy for Houston's 713 Day (July 13th)! Engaging our community and bringing people and space closer together is at the heart of what we do! By sharing STEM experiences, we inspire the next generation of innovators and explorers. Guests enjoyed building foam rockets, meeting retired NASA Astronaut Mike Foreman, and explored underwater robotics just to name a few! At Space Center Houston we are dedicated to making STEM learning fun and impactful. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it a day to remember! Today we sparked curiosity and a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math. Huge shoutout to Stescha Jordan and team for making this a memorable event! 🚀🔬👨🚀 🌊👨🚀 #Houston713Day #CommunityEngagement #STEMFun #STEMEducation #InspireTheFuture

Today, we reflect on the life of William “Bill” Anders, a beloved husband, father and Apollo 8 astronaut. In 1968, Bill became one of the first three humans to orbit the Moon, gifting us the iconic "Earthrise" image and reminding us of our place in the cosmos. As he profoundly said, “We came all this way to explore the Moon, and the most important thing is that we discovered the Earth.” Bill's remarkable career spanned 26 years, including roles as a U.S. Air Force officer and engineer. His pioneering spirit and visionary legacy will inspire future generations to explore the unknown.
