But with earnings season winding down — with the exception of Nvidia Corp.’s highly anticipated results due on Wednesday — traders remained focused on what is likely to come next from the Fed, Peter Cardillo, chief market economist at Spartan Capital Securities, said in a phone interview. “The market is still on solid footing,” Cardillo said, even with rising tensions in the Middle East.
