Paws Cause 2024 was a tail-wagging good time! More than 80 attendees enjoyed great food, delicious wine, making new friends, and cuddling puppies during "Paws Cause 2024" at the Mata Hari House Thursday, July 25th! Hosted by the SPCA of Texas Young Professionals group, the exciting and worthwhile event included a rousing silent auction that saw bids coming in on fabulous items up to the very last minute with some bidding becoming quite intense! Our thanks to several donors for the beautiful jewelry, Dallas Mavericks tickets, and dinner atop Reunion Tower at Crown Block restaurant, just to name a few auction items. Partygoers had a wonderful time learning about the tasting notes of three scrumptious wines provided by the Dallas Wine Girls. The tasting room was constantly full! Paws Cause was a moving event where not only were funds raised—$7K—to support the SPCA of Texas, but it also was an opportunity to recognize partners that are making a difference for vulnerable animals in North Texas. The Corporate Partner of the Year award celebrates the outstanding contributions of a corporation that has demonstrated exceptional dedication and innovation in their mission to make a positive difference for animals in need. As the weather continues to heat up, make sure your furry family members are safe from the blistering sun and hot pavement! Hydration and shade are key if they must be outside. Beware of the hot pavement--if it's too hot for the back of your hand, it's too hot for their paws. And NEVER leave your pet in a car, even if you leave the AC on! #BeatTheHeat #KeepYourPetCool #HydrationIsKey #NoPetsInCars #LotsOfShade #PetsAreFamily

SPCA of Texas puppies Roan and Chappell joined Downtown Dallas, Inc. for their Summertime Storytime Hour, Wednesday, July 24th from 10 to 11 a.m. The event was free, and families enjoyed story time from the amazing folks at the Dallas Public Library. The fun and educational event was held at Harwood Park (408 S Harwood St.) in Dallas. SPCA of Texas Vice President of Marketing and Communications Maura Davies and Senior Manager of Marketing Paul Hyso introduced the pups to the families. The Dallas Public Library team was out of this world fantastic! They read "I'm the Best" about a dog with an over-inflated ego who learns from his friends that they are all the best and he has great friends. And the kids loved it! #SummertimeStorytimeHourRocks #MeetRoanAndChappell #DowntownDallasInc #DallasPublicLibrary #ReadingRocks #PetsAreFamily
