This graph reveals a powerful trend – the growing popularity of customized products. Defined as "locked recipes," these are customized products saved, shared, or added to cart by users across Spectrum's clients. These typically convert at 3X the rate of standard SKUs. So far in 2024, we've seen another large YoY jump in locked recipes, continuing similar trends from 2023 and 2022. Users are expecting more personalization opportunities from their favorite brands. Spectrum's platform can unlock the full potential of #productcustomization for them.

Spectrum conducts formal user testing as a foundation of our process, with both new and existing clients. We evaluate navigation path efficiencies, observe comfort levels with customization tasks and assess how quickly users grasp the customizable aspects of a product. Most of our UX recommendations are specific to the brand we're working with, however, we've found a number of common insights for any product customization program, including: • Showing pre-designed products to users serves as extremely effective inspiration, resulting in increased engagement • Brands see better results when customization programs have dedicated navigation rather than included in a standard product detail page.
