Hey all, I have some news to share with you. After 7 years, it's now time to leave Spoked. Returning home to Australia last year has led me to reflect on my position and make a challenging decision to change directions. Spoked has been a significant part of my life, and I can look back with pride at what the team and the rider community have achieved. My last day of work will be January 30th, 2024. Even after my official departure, I'll always be cheering from the sidelines. Right from the start, Spoked was supported by people who were passionate about cycling and helping others improve by keeping things simple. This ethos will continue with the new team members, focusing on expanding Spoked as an integral part of a virtual training platform. I've been fortunate to work with a great team, community, and investors to help people go further—further in the sense of levelling up on the bike to ultimately become faster, happier, and more consistent. Tim Rice, a 43-year-old programme manager from Preston in Lancashire, started using Spoked at the beginning of 2023 to prepare for the Mallorca 312 sportive. “It’s great that there is the flexibility to change the day, duration and structure of a session as things crop up,” he says, “knowing that the AI will replan, on the fly, for the remaining weeks’ workouts to accommodate for the change. I’ve had a [human] coach before, which was significantly more expensive for a plan that was wholly dependent on them.
